Rising Star
Hello everyone.
I will start with a little history about myself. It may be a similar youthful story in many respects.
During my early teens before high school I discovered cannabis. This was a blessing and a curse. As I began to see things in a different light and question various accepted norms, my use started to take on a life of its own.
Through my teenage years and very early 20's I had experience with psilocybin, occasional LSD and MDMA.
When I was 23 one morning I woke up with a terrible headache. I had been drinking, and had taken LSD a few days prior. I thought, I just had a bad hang over. Although as the days wore on this headache did not go away. Days turned into months and this headache never went away. At which point I thought I was surely ill, had a brain tumor or something. After many visits to the hospital, X-ray, Cat scan, MRI, and a year and a half later. I was diagnosed with Daily chronic Migraine.
to this day, I still have this headache. I have been on various prescription medications. Some work for a time, although they peter out over time.
On a more positive note as a result of this experience. I have been through stages, first of self pitty, than anger, than a struggle back to life, and finally to a point where I am relaxed and accepting.
I originally lived in Canada. I decided to go for a vacation to Mexico in 2009. I felt the climate and the atmosphere was so relaxing, I traveled around the country for 6 months. Finally I found the Yucatan, where I put down roots and have stayed ever since.
Its funny to, as I recall when I was 16 or 17 always telling my friends I wanted to move to Mexico.
So years have gone by and I have been rebuilding my new life. I no longer smoke or drink, I live out in the wilderness and feel more in touch with my surroundings and myself. In the last 10 years or so I have consumed psylocybin on one occasion, which was a positive experience but didn't alleviate my migraine.
I have been reading about ayahuasca for years now, although never had the courage to give it a go. I have been reading various experience reports, and that some people have had relief from migraines. For some reason this year it seems to be interesting me more and more. I think I have even found mimosa tenuiflora growing wild on my property.
my apologies if this was a little unorganized.
I am grateful to everyone who has contributed so much information to these forums
thanks
