A Little Help! (STB)

Okay... So here's the deal. I've gone straight to base with about 150 grams of ACRB, and just for fun, I tossed in my friend's small collection of finely powdered yopo seeds just for an extra kick.
Now, this stuff is apparently pretty tricky, because all I've managed to pull from it so far is about... Oh I don't know. 5 or 6 decent hits and maybe 5 more completely meh hits, and I've pulled with naphtha like 4 times.
So I think my problem might have been not basifying it enough. I pH test with my tongue and a finger dip. I know how much the lye burns because I licked a crystal of it on a whim, so I know how much the water should burn my tongue, roughly. It's a pretty hobo way of pH testing, but I know I'm at least doing it partially right. The big problem I have now is that I have a HUGE amount of basified sludge, almost a gallon's worth.

Long story limp, I want to know if I might not be using enough lye. Bear in mind that this sludge has been sitting around for quite a while too. I feel like I should end off with a LOT more DMT than I've obtained. How can I maximize my naphtha pull efficacy so I don't just get the edge of a razor blade in oily goo, and something more like a couple millitres of the sticky icky?

P.S. I am not overly concerned with getting crystals, but any help on making it less oily and more solid is more than welcome.

^ I hope it's a joke.. If it isn't though, you don't even need to meassure pH in a STB DMT extraction, just use enough and too much wont hurt. A pH-meter or pH-paper would be preferable though, to avoid using excessive ammounts of NaOH at every extraction.

I am quite sure that your extraction has gotten tricky due to you tossing in yopo for giggles, but I can't figure out HOW to easen your problem.. Maybe just keep pulling and re-x the product in naphtha or heptane.

It's not a joke. It's really not as heinous as people make it out to be. Not like I'm sitting there and put a teaspoon in my mouth and swish it around. Just a dab, and I know that if it burns my tongue, me being the slight masochist I am, then it's very basic. And really, the yopo gunk is not distinguishable from the black acacia sludge. It's organic, so the base broke it down just as much as anything else. Add a bit of 5-OH-DMT for shits and giggles, and a marginally larger yield of N,N... Worth a shot. But honestly, I yield just fine. It's just a very low yield each pull. Maybe I'm just not using enough naphtha. Either way, I'm just honing my skills for a much larger extraction in the near future.

Are you mixing the napatha with the basic solution.
Are you evaporating the naptha or freezing.

Lye? *shrug* A lot. I'd say close on about 1/8 lb in a gallon of water.
Yes, I'm mixing the naphtha in with the basic solution. I wasn't about to drink it...
Lately I've just evapped small amounts, but I'm considering a FP this go around.
So to improve on what I've done before, I've used significantly more naphtha, and I've also put a good deal more (now 1/8lb or so) of lye in the sludge. I also double-dipped the naphtha. I'm not saying I'm not having success. I'm just saying I feel like I should be having more of it.

You could try adding NaCl.. It will make the aqueous layer more polar and therefore should force more DMT into the nonpolar phase.

You could always freebase the fumarates afterwards if vaporisation is your favorite ROA

You have way to much water.
For 150g of bark you should use 1.5 litres.
Is the bark whole or powdered?

Not enough lye isn't your problem I use 6g per 30g of bark.
How much naphtha did you use for your first pull.

I have never been able to get more than a miniscule yield when I tried STB on ACRB, and the final product was not particularly active. Also traditional STB and A/B extractions do not work for bufotenine, I believe because it breaks down in highly basic solutions, so you've merely wasted those yopo seeds. You have way too much water, probably not enough lye (but who knows because you didn't weigh it), maybe too much naphtha, maybe you just got a bunk batch of root bark. Nobody can help you if you don't detail exactly what you've done and how much of each reagent/solvent you're using.

I never thought I would have to say this again, but DO NOT PUT YOUR TONGUE IN A LYE SOLUTION!!! This is exactly the kind of irresponsible and reckless behavior that The Nexus is trying to discourage because it gives outsiders the impression that everyone who extracts DMT is doing moronic things, such as putting their tongue in a lye solution. Spend the extra five dollars and buy some damn litmus paper. I feel like this should be obvious but this is the second or third time I have had to tell someone "Do not put caustic/toxic chemicals in your mouth." :!:

I thought I was getting beastly by testing the basic solution by rubbing it between to fingertips. If my fingertips were slippery afterwards then it was basic enough. But common man, don't put caustic materials in your mouth. That's not safe now matter how well you know what a caustic burn feels like and to what degree its pH is.

I think your problem is wayy too much water. Two ways to fix that. Either add more lye til you have the correct pH. Or you can acidify the whole solution again, boil the soup down to about 1L, then add about 80g lye, and finish as normal. Id suggest option two for best results and to not waste lye.

10 to 15 ML of water per gram so for 150 gms of mhrb you should use say 1500ML water... if you dont have a measuring cup you can use any soda bottle if you look on the label it says how many ML it is...and by your yield how much is it? its only 150 gms..so expect about 1 gram or so yield....and how long did you let the solution sit for? did you give it enough time? and how long are you letting the naptha sit before pulling... and how long did you shake it?
