light naptha is specifically the only one you want. think of light naptha like gasoline and heavy like its closer to diesel or kerosene.
most of the stuff besides hexane in naptha is not able to remain liquified without cooling or pressure, and only exists as a liquid because its dissolved into the hexane and other stuff. like pentane. pure pentane is pretty much like butane. so, the lighter the naptha can be, the better. since they are used for different things and most of those things involve either burning well or dissolving things well and promptly drying, or, replacing gasolines various uses besides as a fuel without giving yourself cancer, youll find naptha, petroleum ether and shellite, are all pretty much just light naptha, i.e the same stuff
