Acacia confusa STB

Migrated topic.
SWIM just started the STB Noman's tek with 50g of ACRB :
50ml was added to the solution in order to perform the first pull, then it was shaked.
30 min later, there were no naphta layer on the top, even after waiting one night SWIM didn't notice a separation.

SWIM has already used the same ingredients for a previous MHRB STB extraction and everything was fine, there's no issue with the ingredients.

Do you think the Noman's tek should be modified for ACRB ?

^..this (no separation) can occur from over-basifying..despite Dorge's report of some aussies' advice, i don't recommend above pH 11..remember pH strips or meters can give a false reading if applied too soon after adding lye..
..in your situation Explorateur i would recommend gradually lowering the pH by adding acetic acid (white vinegar) until the solution separates (probably at around pH 10-11, but you don't have to measure this) ..in acacias the tar (not tannin) can become bonded to the alkaloids (at high pH)
..you will then probably need to re-X..
but generally I would say A/B extractions have worked better for acacias..
.

Any updates to this Acacia extract? This plant is the way to go now! Please let us know. STB worked or no?
Looks like an A/B is our only option?

Thank you, Electric Kool-Aid, for revitalizing this very important thread! I have not seen this one before in my search for info on Acacia Confusa STB. This provides a lot of valuable references to the yellow and amber colored goo I am planning on investigating further.

Thank you for bumping this! :)

Here is the magic info! Thx nen888
My neighbor's cat starts with whole bark to ID what it has. Smashes in between to layers of cardboard with a sledghammer and grinds to a powder. Has only done the thicklight tek but with good results. however ph was 12+ which may have been the cause of lower yields and gooier pulls. Seems like using less solvent and supersaturating it made better xtals.

Kittycat may try this stb with a pressure cooker vinegar lyse. No extraction heatbath? If that is the case I like the idea. The pressure build up has been an issue.
