In regards to % etc, I don't know of specifics, but what I do know is that the bark is harvested two times a year. Once directly after winter for the year round / lower "dose" experience, daily use. Then at the end of summer, especially a prolonged draught period for when particular ceremonies are held where the Elders require a more "deep" connection to ceremony (I took this as the drier/less moisture in the bark gives a more pronounced affect/effect on them). I've witnessed first hand myself the effects these two different harvesting times has on the product/ Elders. When they prepare the drought affected bark, they mix it with ash from the fire, to form a "jellybean" sized and consistency ball and place on/behind the lip and held there. The ash additive "activates" it somehow to make it stronger and faster acting but longer lasting effects for them. They don't use the ash for the winter harvested bark.
I'm NO scientist, don't know how it all works, but I have seen its affects/effects firsthand over many years working in the Abiriginal community and speaking with the Elders. I would be very interested in anyones opinions and or explanations on this

But what I do know, they have used it for LITERAL 1000'S of years for its "Dreamtime" connection properties. Many believe it is the use of "Mingle-Bark", daily and the stronger mix the initially gave them "access" to their Dreamtime, Ancestors and Earth Spirits/Guardia so etc. The knowledge of Mingle-bark and its preparation has ALWAYS been handed down from the women, but used by all, the stronger version/mix primarily used by the community Medicine Man for visions or any Elder who wishes to communicate directly to their deceased family/ ancestors.
