acacia spp. which types are any good for extraction?

the first spice which was ever offered to me was a red powder. the guy told me it was resin from some type of acacia and that it came from australia. i didn't buy it tho.. it somehow didn't feel right at that moment.

anyone know what kind of acacia this could be? i have actually heard of many species of acacia containing the spice.
