Acetic acid dilution question - 100%

Hi there hopefully this is the correct forum, else would be thankful for a move of the Thread!?

I bought a acetic acid by chemical supplier labeled as 100%.
How safe or dangerous is it to make a dilution of the acid, of approximately 30-40%?

I.e. 200ml of distilled or demineralized H2O & 100ml of that acid

Is this even an idea you wouldn't categorically advise against? I have a gas mask, chemical protective gloves, and eye protection. However, I'm concerned about a possible reaction or a risk that's not worth taking for a few euros.

I would dispose of the acid if it poses a certain unnecessary risk. I'm grateful for any realistic information!

To put a perspective on it, what you have is basically like Essigessenz, only four times stronger. While glacial acetic acid is dangerous, it's not like cyanide or oleum. Dilution is a fairly trivial task, eye protection is your most important equipment for all chemistry.

Carry out the procedure in a well-ventilated area, wearing your gas mask if you like. Always add the acid to the water, not the other way round.

OK, no way. Then I consider it an thumb investment and prefer to sort it out to an drug store or something like that know how to use it.

I got the protections but I do respect the occurrence of failures due to concentration to much. Already got a naoh burning at my right thumb. Rly do not need even worse....

Not really an problem, I mean where I live 80 percent acetic acid is being used all the time by housewives (and man) for making pickles. The 100 percent stuff is not that different, just use a pair of glasses and work in your kitchen under the hood or outside, any splashing is fine just rinse off with water. Acetic acid is not really all that reactive, and it’s biggest nuisance is its very irritating smell.

If you’re really concerned about covering yourself with it you can prepare an bicarbonate solution, imo not necessary as rinsing is sufficient for small amounts on your hands.

Guess I would accomplish it without an incident, but having a 25% bottle also in form the mentioned essenz makes it just more questionable why I bought it at all...
