admit dmt use to my doctor?

I see no reason to admit this to the Doctor unless you are having health problems you believe spice may be contributing to. She will most likely be clueless about any health effects DMT has on your body anyway, it isn't something they teach in med school...or at least I wouldn't think so. Most doctors seem to be clueless about drugs especially psychedelics since they have little to no adverse affects on health, unless they are extremely mainstream ie. meth, cocaine, heroin...
 
I would keep your DMT use to yourself. I don't know of any medical condition known to be caused (or exacerbated) by DMT (it's probably something to stay away from if you have serious cardio or psych problems). I don't know of any medical use the information could be to her--and I wouldn't be shocked if she didn't even know what DMT was (unless she's an emergency specialist).

One thing: such admissions have an ugly way of getting onto, and living in, written forms (even if you only tell the doctor in conversation). Those forms can MULTIPLY, and go places you would NEVER IMAGINE. You could easily find yourself unable to get health insurance in the future--and possibly mysteriously declined for job hires. You would be shocked and depressed at how far such information can travel, and the harm it can cause you.
 
I agree with the others, there is no reason to tell a doctor about this unless you feel it is contributing to some disease or problem you are having. It seems like a bad idea, and just because she is OK with medical cannabis doesn't mean she is "one of us"... it just means she's a good doctor! I am generally honest about my drug use with doctors, if it pertains to the situation at hand, but I don't tell them about my recreational/other drug use otherwise. It unfortunately seems to put a barrier between the patient and most doctors. Of course, Corpus Collosum is a DMT-smoking MD so there are exceptions...

Forget game, just be real. Is your wife into 3-way? Are you and her poly?

Leave DMT out of it, git sum nonetheless. Of course don't use dmt to get in anyones pants...like, don't be manipulative on that level....yuck. Not that you said you were! But the mention of your infatuation + your desire to tell her about the dmt, idk, I went there.

Still, you and your wife should have open and mature conversations....that lead to you enjoying the beauty of both your wifes and your doctors bodies together. After THAT, well, you can feel free to call her one of us and turn her on to dmt.

Did't Jesus say something about adultery of the eye being equal to plain ol' adultery? I wouldn't even say that but for the fact your username is "Catholic Psychonaut"...!
 
hes bound by doctor patient confidentiality, so yea, i tell him. maybe hes a nexian waiting to be born :)

we could always use more medically relevant input/research
 
^ mew when you go get life insurance etc they can look into your medical records and deny you if it says in there that you take psychedelics etc..or they can charge you much more etc even if there is no evidence of it effecting your health negativly at all. Kind of stupid concidering the things people eat, that me taking DMT would have that kind of complication but it can. Not that I care for life insurance but hey..never know.
 
In the day of explosive information diarrhea, I would not tell a doctor that was not a close friend anything of your psychedelic use. If he charts it, who knows where it will end up?
 
good points both jamie and rivea,

given the gravity of dmt use, id probably bait him/her and see where his/her interests lie and first talk about the medical benefits of entheogenic use before admitting to any yourself. i still think if the doctor dosent know about dmt he/she should, thats not to say that he/she needs to know that you participate of course

^^This. The key words are "if he charts it".Once this happens then the doctor is obliged to declare this for the purposes of insurance etc.Only if the doctor is a personal friend would it be reasonable to disclose your interest in such things.

Taking note of your location, if word got out that your doctor was in any way supporting marijuana for medical purposes things could get pretty ugly for her. Investigations would be opened up, patient paperwork examined. If there was any mention of your entheogenic use in her paperwork there would be repercussions. Unless it was somehow relevant to the condition of your health, I doubt she would be interested. And given the state of the NHS, I doubt she has a great amount of time to sit and discuss entheogenic use at great length!

Keep it to yourself just to be on the safe side.

No, no. No... Nothing creepy like that intended. I meant it more in the sense that I get the feeling she is "one of us", and I am most certainly Not attempting to hook up with her or anything likethat. I am very committed to my wife. I didn't intend to project that kind of vibe, sorry.
 
I'm honestly a bit creeped out myself by the way that post came off. I talked to my wife about "coming out" to the Dr. she agreed with you all that it is a bad idea. I do want to be clear that I'm very much a one woman guy, and absolutely not interested in anything icky with my doc.
 
I guess what I meant to imply was that my perception of how well it might be received would likely be negatively impacted.
