Hello, I have been informed on other forums and through other unreliable sources that smoking aluminum foil is bad for your health. However, this doesn't make sense to me. Aluminum foil is made out of nearly purely aluminum, and the sublimation point of aluminum is too high to cause dangerous fumes (with a bic lighter). Could someone direct me to a reliable source that says smoking aluminum foil is or is not bad for my health, or explain it? Thank you.

Its not good for your health, not one bit long term. Foil will burn as well as combust with enough heat. besides that its a crappy method, probably the worst next to a meth type pipe.

This is changa referral day. 3rd Thread tonight. Mate, just make changa, load a bong and rip a fat tube, hole the hit in till you cant any longer and i promise a B.T.

Since thin Aluminum foil heats up so quickly, and DMT has such a low melting point, it's nearly impossible to get smooth vapor from this method.

Trust me mate, I've attempted it a few times and the vapor was simply too harsh to inhale in any quantity. It's not a feasible vehicle for consumption

For some reason, searching for "aluminum foil smoking," did not turn up anything relevant. I apologize for re-posting. Though I still have yet to see a scientific source of the info.

Im 25 male and for the past 5 years I've used so much aluminum foil for bowls its not even funny (sheets and sheets and sheets). Several times a day, several times a week maybe 2 weeks out of the every month for the past 6 years or so. If anyone is going to get cancer from smoking weed out of aluminum, its me. I usually only use the bowl for one hit and then replace it with a new piece of foil.. i keep hearing people say its unhealthy but usually when a study has been done it always says aluminum is non carcinogenic. think about BBQs, the oven and everything you use foil to eat with.. it probably isnt carcinogenic... HOWEVER i did have a lung x ray of my chest last year because i was coughing and having sore throat and they did find 4 or 5 lung fibrosis (nods) in the xray.. the doctor however said that was extremely common in anyone... they also conducted a lung function test and concluded I had medium asthma like symptoms and prescribed me a temporary inhaler! so you never know... heres an interested report i found stating very clearly that aluminum inhalation is damaging to the lungs in terms of lung function but NON carcinogenic or toxic which means it doesnt cause cancer....i dont know what to think so im going to stop using aluminum foil immediately, start exercising like crazy and eating lots of fruit and green tea!

No overt fetotoxicity was noted, nore were general reproductive parameters noted after gavage treatment of rats. There is no indication that aluminum is carcinogenic. Chromosomal aberrations have been observed in bone marrow cells of exposed mice and rats."

I have used aluminium foil on and off for various substances including DMT for over 20 years, with varying degrees of success with regards to DMT. A delicate hand with the lighter is required.
As far as vapourising DMT goes, you can get a classic Vapour genie for as little as £30 if you are financially challenged. It is wonderful device, maybe takes a little more practice than a GVG as you cannot see the vapours being produced.
I sometimes kiss my VG cos i love her so much and the only way to separate me from her would be to prise her from my cold, dead hands. I christened her Mildred after my second breakthrough.
I have to say if you get to use a Vg correctly you will never go back to foil.

Ive never seen an aluminum screen. Are you sure your not thinking of stainless steel?

Not to beat a dead horse as stated above if you want to see all the arguments on both sides go to the link above. Trust me its all in there.

If you want to smoke dmt in foil go for it. :thumb_up: Nobody is going to stop you. Its a crap method and I don't know why anyone would choose this method health risks or not when all you have to do is a good sandwich method in a weed pipe.

And just so people who say its not flammable i have had foil ignite in my face multiple times when i was a kid smoking meth and trust me inhaling that smoke even just a tas=d was disgusting and made me ill. It doesn't happen on new foil but when the same piece get used a lot it combusts in a big WOOF flame ball. Been there did it and tts not fun.

Ironically, "the doc" of this forum was a notorious foil adept knowing all the ins and outs. The pitfalls are probably the reason he never wrote a dedicated how-to-foil thread. Or did I miss that?

Im sure I posted somewhere how to use foil optimally. When I joined the Nexus it was the method I used with good results when vaping DMT from Vovins tek but as my knowledge has grown Im a convert to the 'Cult of the GVG'.

Foil certainly does work but there is definitely a knack to it; the flame needs to lovingly carress the underside of the foil in a gentle to and fro motion.But it does take a degree of proficiency to get it just right.A few years of using foil daily does help but its probably simpler to just get an appropriate vaporising device like the GVG which in the final analysis is much more efficient.

how dare you!! How dare you compare the meth pipe to smoking aluminum foil. lol. The meth pipe works great, I've used them many a times, and many times needing only one breath for a full breakthrough. I even have a curved one now so I can accurately see the flame and how far it is from the glass. I just wish it wasn't called a meth pipe, and the site of one of those things inspires some of the most negative "druggie" reactions in others, second only to syringes.

:lol: , holy hell i didn't see the LOL and thought you were serious for a sec. I was thinking , this is not the Apoc I know, lol.

Anyways as have I. In fact I just wrote in another thread about frequency of DMT and tolerence describing how my first year I learned to extract i vaped 3 times a day for over a year. Well.....all that was with a meth pipe, Sorry, a Curved Glass Pipe Made For Smoking Crystals of Various Type, pipe. Its called the C.G.P.M.F.S.C.V.T- pipe check out their website. lol

I'm sorry they suck ASS! Seriously just because you can make it work doesn't mean they work good. Even a broken watch is right twice a day! They hold heat and cause the melted DMT oil to overheat and for some reason just stops making vapor. It just would sit there and burn. Eventually I figured out a cold wet wash cloth was good to remove the build up of heat build up. Being careful just took way too long to administer and Id misfire of end up to F'd up to continue. It sucked mate, Meth pipes suck for dmt IMO.

You know, it's weird, when I first started smoking, it also seemed a lot easier to vape. I would use a meth pipe and not even a lighter, but a candle to vape the dmt. It worked fine. Then I used a torch lighter and it worked excellent. But now vaping doesn't seem to have the same effect. I don't know if it's tolerance, or the vaping qualities of the spice change with age.

However, I don't think it mattes with respect to the effectiveness of a meth pipe compared to other methods. The GVG may be better than a meth pipe, but I believe a meth pipe is better than any other method. Any issue that people believe the meth pipe may have will be an ,issue probably more so with any other method.

what's a C.G.P.M.F.S.C.V.T- pipe ? I found nothing on that.
