Adulting .. isn't just for breakfast anymore in my life.
I find that I get maybe 4-5 weekends a year free where I can go and do these introspective journeys.
When I had more time, I would build up doses over a month preparing for a heavy or breakthrough or heroic dose. The other downside is I have a list of 26 rules that have to be met before I journey. So I have to plan in advance and any number of things can stop the journey from happening (list or life)
However, I don't seem to have the time to be able to do these build ups like I used to. Going from "not touching something for a year" to full on "incapacitated" levels bothers me a bit. So the best way I can think to ingest is to take everything almost like an Aya ritual. Where I take about 3/4 of what I thought would be "there", then as I come up if I find I didn't make it or I can handle more I add a little.
The downside of this method is : Usually when you are in the thick of it.. the last thing you want is "more intense". However, if you did it to begin with, you are there for sure. I don't mind white knuckle trips, but I find I get less out of it if I am concentrating on my mental health and hanging on rather than being free and carefree over "there".
I have found taking off months in between experiences has really helped with integration or at least finding out which "changes" are really going to take some work and which are doable now. Also I usually get a laundry list of changes I need to make to be like "the self that tells me what is wrong with me" in those states.
I do force myself to take on the dieta rituals for each space about a week ahead of time. Full nights rests, removing other daily activities like weed etc. Thinking about what I want from it and then even sitting with the "teacher" and meditation for the week. Eating well, drinking water and exercising. Staying away from negativity and cleaning up my space. If I didn't grow is specifically, I will add something from my own garden even if it is just a little, so something I showed love too is part of the experience.
Anyone else in this boat? How do you handle it? Microdosing a week ahead maybe, just to get in the right headspace? Any patterns you use? Like Maybe one teacher at a time for a while then moving on?
It's a weird position for me to be in, as I am used to having "all the time I need" normally for these things, but life is good about keeping me on my toes
