Ya man thats what it should look like they'll fatten up in no time. The spines should look like little antenna almost. Sounds like you're all set. If you wanna post a pic I'll tell you for sure
 
They soundabout right to me, make sure they are put in conditions they like as they are extremely slow growing unless conditions are perfect.
 
there are some beautiful pictures floating around of Lophophora's grafted onto San Pedro's. Since pachanoi's grow so quickly, does that mean that the peyote's growth rate as a graftee is accelerated?
 
^^ yes, they do grow quicker this way, but I believe it can have the effect of changing mescaline content

Mine looked like that after a year (seriously slow growing!) they are not in the best climate / location though, so they probably grow quicker if kept in ideal conditions.
