Anything good for music besides LSD ?

You know I -really- like putting on headphones and tripping but salvia and dmt just don't work with music... shrooms neither imho... only good old ACID made my music light up.

Please... is there anything else? I can't find good lsd anymore or i'd buy a 100 sheet in a quantum and be done with that problem....but thats just dreaming.

Would a heavy dose of LSA be appropo? Is mesc good with tunes and headphones?
 
Smoking DMT is awesome with music, the music changes and becomes alien... magic... much better! Try something electronic? And smoking more? ;)

My foaf agrees with you about shrooms, from his relatively limited experience in that area. Weed is good for music, of course, you get completely lost in it and can hear every different sound as if you're deconstructing it, but I expect you know that already. My foaf isn't really interested in the music when on mescaline.
 
SWIM found salvia does some awesome things for music, but not in the way LSD does. It’s best taken sublingually, not smoked. It’s more LSD-like that way and better with music.

SWIM likes LSH (lysergic acid hydroxyethylamide) with music. It really brings out the emotion in music. It’s very much like LSD. You can really get lost in music with LSH.

Mescaline is also good with music.

You might try mixing theobromine in with your mushrooms. That will make the mushrooms more LSD-like, and make listening to music much more interesting.

5-MeO-DMT does what LSD does to music. But DO NOT SMOKE IT. Either snuff it or take it sublingually. That way it's very much like LSD, in SWIM's opinion.

5-HO-DMT (AKA, bufotenine) makes you hear music and sounds without anything actually playing. It’s quite fascinating. Excellent for headphone music listening. Yopo has 5-HO-DMT in it along with some nauseating toxins that make you feel ill. Yopo works, but it’s not as nice as pure 5-HO-DMT.
 
Ecstasy is a great music drug. It works best with more upbeat music. You can feel the music in your body. It'll make you want to move to it, but if you like chilling you could put on something you connect with emotionally. The feeling can be quite profound.

I've found DXM to enhance music on many an occasion. Mostly on the lower plateaus, however. A strong DXM trip tends to make music sound empty. Eastern music and goa go good with it.
 
Cannabis, taken orally. For listening to music this works maybe even better than LSD.
A high dose of orally-taken cannabis can in many ways rival with LSD, but some preconditions have to be met with or it won't work very well. The basic thing is that you don't use it often. With LSD tolerance builds up extremely fast, but within a week this is practically gone. You could take LSD weekly and only after a period of several months of weekly use you will notice a slight decrease of it's effectivity that way. With cannabis, for the narcotic effects tolerance doesn't build up that quickly, but for it's psychedelic effects it does. And once you have tolerance for it's psychedelic effects it takes months to wear off.
If you seldom use cannabis and take a large dose of it, orally (cake, cookies, brownies, etc) on an empty stomach, you can have an experience that can match the intensity of a strong acid trip. It can be more enjoyable, and even more psychedelic but it will have less visual effects.
Hardly anybody knows how intense and magical it can be and most cannabis users will not believe it until they have experienced it for themselves.
 
Intense is right, polytrip. Pot brownies are just too much in my opinion. I get too high. I can't even describe the trip. It's very different from other psychedelics. I also find the body effects of pot brownies to be uncomfortable. My head just wants to explode. Is there a good way to offset the discomfort?
 
When I took AMT at a Sonic Youth concert I was blown away. My companion felt similarly. It felt as if I was hung up on each note. It actually felt like the whole room was hung up on each note. It was definitely an awesome performance, but it's hard to imagine that the AMT didn't play a role.

I wish AMT was still unscheduled in the US, so I could further experiment with its effects on live music. I might wait for a worthy All Tomorrow's Parties festival to hop overseas and experiment. :d

An amanita muscaria and cannabis combo lead to strange musical distortion followed by a weird delerium..

DIPT followed by bands with very low notes was interesting. Type O, Swans, or Sunn O))). The other side of the spectrum was interesting, too. Geddy Lee sounded like an average male;)

Or you take too large a dose and it's just a matter of sorting out the right dose (most likely) or it's the quality of the stuff that you've put in them.
Anyway, i find it most enjoyable. All i want to do (and can do) at that time is lay down listen to music. When you want to dance or something it probably IS uncomfartable.
But when i lay down and listen to music, the music becomes an adventure that completely takes me away.
Some people get paranoïd on these large doses.
My first real spiritual experience was probably when i took such a large dose, became a little paranoïd and learned i had to let go of all my fears.
It is indeed different from most psychedelics, but it is definately psychedelic and not just narcotic.
 
cactus rules. so does hashish orally. i have at some point in my life only eaten hash and never smoked any. at one point i knew exactly how much to eat of a cookie to get what effect. eating hash is really nice because it doesnt make you so tired. it is most important to use really good high grade hash for oral use. in my opinion nepal creme or some other living hash is the best. living hash seems to contain quite a lot more stuff than dead hash does..
 
I'm guessing he means when the plant is bled for its resin (=alive), rather than its buds cut off (=dead)?

SWIM didn't mention smoking salvia and others because while the music aids the tip, the trip isn't ABOUT the music. Weed and e are the only ones he's tried that are really ABOUT the music... maybe adderal and even coke etc as much as most entheos but they're more party drugs (unsurprising as they're good with music).
 
SWIM likes 3 Datura stramonium seeds and 200 mg of mescaline. The effect it has on music is out of this world! Beyond what LSD can do. At least that's how it is for SWIM.

Another good combination is 3 Datura stramonium seeds with HBWR seeds (or ololuiqui which is better). That produces a trip that's very similar to LSD with the same type of music enhancement. But SWIM likes the seeds with mescaline more. For SWIM that combination blows away every other psychedelic there is that SWIM has tried.
 
I used to love listening to music on mushrooms, but lately it seems like the music drives crazy. I've had many nights laying on my living room floor writhing in pleasure as I listen to DSOTM, Shpongle, Ott, Beatles, or Incubus. BUt that seems to be the experiences of the past. I believe it is because I trip way too hard now days. I used to need 7grams of mushrooms for a good trip, but now I take 5 and I think it way too much.

I have yet to try music with DMT but it seems like it would be enjoyable.

High doses of oral mj seem to be perfect for anything. I really enjoy the increase in musical creativity I get from it. There is nothing like eating a bunch of cannibis and pick up my guitar for 5 hours. The only problem is trying to work my recording equipment to capture the experience.

He most likely meant hand rubbed hash, or also called Charas... Hash is made from the resin glands that are on the surface of the cannabis flowers. There are usually 2 ways of making the hash.. One is the common sieved way, which is basically harvesting the plant, letting it dry, then using a sieve (or multiple sieves) of a specific size, where the resin glands will pass and plant matter wont. This is how they do it in morroco and other places.

Then there is the hand rubbed, which is basically just rubbing your hand on the live plants, and the resin glands attach to your hand, becoming very sticky. After many hours working one puts together this resin that is stuck on the hand, forming charas. This is quite wasteful, actually, so in india (where maybe most charas comes from, together with nepal) some people are starting to sieve or make ice hash out of the plants after they have been rubbed. Or the unscrupulous sellers that re-rub used plants and sell the low quality charas for tourists (sometimes mixing with things like ghee butter to make it seem good and creamy)


now back on topic.. for SWIM indeed acid is THE substance for listening to music, and he hasnt found anything as perfect for it.. Also high doses vaporized cannabis/hash can be very good, but it doesnt reach the refined perception level that one gets on acid.
 
Old dried mushrooms can be made like new by steaming them. It increases the potency quite a bit. It's as if the psilocybin is hydrolyzed by the steam into psilocin. This process also destroys the enzymes in the mushroom that break down psilocin into that inactive blue crap.

Still, LSH is probably the best for music (other than real LSD).
