Art Supply stores typically have the brand name Bestine.
Even in Australia?
I don't know, but I do think it would be worth the time to check art supply stores. It is used to dissolve liquid cement bonds. Like for old fashioned airplane modelling.
OK - the model cement might be MEK, so it's best to double-check. (@somewhereoverhere) There's a low-odour white spirit used as oil paint thinners which is medium naphtha but you'd need to check just how readily it evaporates, and whether it does so cleanly.
Heptane was also available as glue thinner/remover but I haven't looked for over a decade since I currently have access to most of the solvents I want anyhow. Plus I've never been anywhere near Aus (except for Austria
).
