Are we becoming God? Or is God just a human idea?

Nice thread!!

So much has already been said that resonates with me. I'm not one to flog that dead equine. However, fwiw, I can share my present simple understanding/belief.

I think every soul is a cell in the body of 'God.' (thanks to Edgar Cayce for putting that idea into words I have co-opted!)
Every cell has a purpose and every cell is necessary to the life of the body.
I think we, the cells, are in the process of re-membering. Re member. Not recall but re-member. If that makes sense.
I also inherently suspect that the whole (body) is greater than the sum of its parts.

A dynamic mystery (someone already used this phrase but it fits perfectly with my present perspective which is continuously subject to change, evolution, and the valued input of other cells!)

In my most intense pharmahuasca trip, towards the end, I felt that my consciousness was everything. But it was not "my" consciousness, it was a total consciousness that was me but also everyone and everything else. I'm sure many of you have had this type of experience.

I could feel progressively how my consciousness became more and more narrow and felt less and less connected to that "total consciousness", it's as if I had to feel separated from it in order to experience the world. The message that came through in that moment is "remember that you are God". Not in the sense that only I am God, of course.

I later found a quote by Tim Leary: "You are God. Remember!" It's a millennia old idea, not Leary's, but still I was surprised at how similarly it was worded.
Same, one of my best pharma trips somehow veered into unitive experience territory. I was filled with so much physical bliss afterward that it was hard to even breathe. Very intense stuff.
