Asarone

Greetings my friends, i have a quickie to ask.
Basically i need asarone and im familliar with oil extraction technique THEORY.
Asarone aint an alkaloid, but i think it might be possible to rip it out with acetone or 99%IPA from sweet flag root bark.

Now its time for somebody to save me from screwing up :lol:
Any tips?

May I ask you where you need Aserone for?

As explainied in this scientific article Bioanalytical investigation of asarone in connection with Acorus calamus oil intoxications:

Using GC-MS, a hydroxylated asarone metabolite was identified both in fungus broth and urine samples. However, this study demonstrated no evidence for the presence of 2,4,5-trimethoxyamphetamine, claimed as a hallucinogenic component of A. calamus. The main clinical symptom reported by the patients was prolonged vomiting that sometimes lasted more than 15 h.

Maybe you are looking for the wrong substance? Aserone doesn't seem to be what you should be looking for.

Its just my interest in the compound and its activity on various pests in my garden. I do not intend to ingest the substance.

Just wanted an answer from those with higher experience and/or knowledge of chemistry, about extraction success probability.
