I dont think he made the same mistake twice im pretty sure the mistake came from the ammonia not the "lye".  He had a bunch of pretty white powder before the ammonia washed it all away.  Should i do a taste test or something next time?  Maybe no need to even use the ammonia?  MOre advice on that step would be appreciated.  As for not using the AB tek its because the directions seem long winded and the materials seem harder to find and more complicated.  just mho
