AVATAR 3D

Migrated topic.
seeing it tomorrow with my brother in non-3D (he's got one eye that doesn't function properly so 3D just looks blurry to him :( ) then i'm seeing it AGAIN on tuesday with another friend in IMAX 3D!!

just can't stop thinking about how poignant and beautiful this movie is..... could we as humans ever learn to live in such harmony with our world? to evolve to a point where we can communicate with the very consciousness of the earth that supports and sustains us? i find myself having outright fantasies in my head of going to an alien land, downloading into an adapted space suit and never looking back....perhaps i'm just a sensitive soul....perhaps this film calls out to a part of all of us that asks a similar question....

...is it possible to adapt to our planet rather than constantly adapting our planet to us?

.....or have we gone too far in the wrong direction?

sometimes i feel like we are like a bad case of acne on the face of the earth... :(

I want to eat a small dose of cactus or a bit of mushrooms and see it again..all the glow stuff in the forest is real trippy!

ROFL!! SWIM loves the luminescent creatures and forests on Pandora....

I think we can communicate with the global bio-internet system through psychedelics like DMT and ayahuasca, psilocybin etc..

I also think that humanity is missing a huge part of itself by not using this technology..it's like we have lost a limb or something.. lost our connection to the mother.. and western civ is the outcome of that. Now everything that is going on with the economy, the environmental movement and all the tensions is like picking at a scab, all the illusions are falling away and we are peering into that empy hole that was once filled with a much more sacred way of life.

FERNGULLY!!!!!!!!

This movie INSPIRED you to watch Ferngully? I have to see it... heard some good things from other friends about it, too. =)

haha I used to love fergully when I was a kid..I think it came out when I was like 8 years old..1992 or something..I started watching it today and couldnt stop!

With all the snow in NL, I couldn't use my car so my GF and me had to walk an hour through the snow to get to the cinema. Luckily it was all worth it, a great movie (though with it's usual Hollywood predictability) and it still got me thinking about it.

A few hours before the movie I took 9g of resin and that worked out just fine, the trippy Forrest was awesome to watch. :D

Kind regards,

The Traveler

Just saw it today, I really have no comment other than, you gotta see it. There's no way I can criticize or even try to sum up the Avatar experience, you just gotta see it.

It has stirred thoughts and emotions that I feel about humanity and nature. This movie fit into my life beautifully. Let it wash over you, and be carried away with the tide, suspend your disbelief.

^^Well said. Experienced it today, with a low dose of mescaline, 3x Datura seeds (first time trying this...very nice combo) and a very small marijuana cigarette, just to enhance my aesthetic perceptions still further... "I don't need drugs to enjoy life, just to enhance it" I quote from Otto in the Simpsons...😉 Beautiful...I mean what an awesome spectacle!! One would hope everyone would at the very least gain something from this film. I mean WOW!! :d

Well I can;t add anything that hasn;t already been said about how awesome this film is.

What made my ears (eyes?) prick up was a couple of people mentioned dreaming about it...... I too had a dream the same night that there was a kind of plant much akin to the singing tree thing that grow bigger everytime I moved close to it, and I remember feeling as if it was growing for me, but I also remember that it was growing beyond it's comfort level, and I told it not to do this for me as I wasn't worthy of it's presence and energy, but still it kept growing for me. I couldn't help but feel there was a hidden message conveyed in this and it was a little more than just the fact that I'd watching a badass 3D film.

Seriously though, the effects are stunning and the 3 hours just fly by - you can really immerse yourself in the jungle throughout. I liked how this movie got me involved emotionally too, I was angry when the characters were angry, was sad when they were, wanted to throw up a fist and cheer when they were victorious, and felt suspense when I had a feeling I knew what was going to happen next, but couldn't be sure - very few movies can engage someone this good, definately a tip of the cap to James Cameron.

I also thought the main alien lady was pretty tasty as well 8)

I have the same thing with my eyes. I went and saw it in 3D anyway and it was blurry, but still more awesome then anything I'd ever seen before. I'm definitely checking this out in 2D.

IMAX 3D about 2 hours ago....

OH....

MY....

GOURD...

i actually swatted at a few insects whilest making my way through the jungles and later dusted off the ash that was falling on my pants.... i was IN IT!!!

so awesome.....go see this movie...

L&G!!

dam. This movie in 3d was something else. Everything about it was just amazing, its not like a lot of movies out today that are flat out bullshit.

The whole shaman alien planetary mind thing, the spiral caapi like part in the home tree and then the "tree of souls" that connected them like neurologically to the collective mind and ancestors was very sweet

I NEED to see this movie in IMAX!..with a pinch of psychedelic!

Just came home from watching it in IMAX 3D. It was so beautiful. The movie pulled at my heart strings and made me cry. Too bad I had to sit in the first row, even though I came 30 minutes early, but I'll probably see it again so it's okay.

a great reputable newspaper (no boulevard paper...) in germany called the film "a drug-trip with pixel romantic", "a parallel creation on magic mushroom" and "an all-in-one film" (popcornkino-message picture-philosophy seminar).
no joke!
isn't this remarkable?
:surprised

it may happen your heart will be really touched by this film.
so...don't you forget your handkerchiefs then you go to the movie!
no joke!
