AWESOME first attempt at Cybs Teks - questions

Rising Star
my friend is following cybs hybrid atb salt tek found here. Followed instructions and ingredients to a T.

Questions:
01. The final product ended up very "wet". Goey. Could it literally be put in a dehydrater? Freeze time was as described in tek, but fan drying took 2 hours instead of the 20 listed before no solvent could be smelled.
02. At what steps does PH level need to be examined, and what levels are ideal?
03. Is a pyrex GL45 cap safe to use w/ solvents?
04. Yield was 1g from first pull. The rest of the pulls yielded so little the time spent was not worth it. Skip the subsequent pulls?
05. Freezer smelled of naphtha for almost 2 weeks after - was naphtha not suffficent covering?
06. What are ideal storing conditions and how long will it last?

Overall this was a very fun project but my buddy said he needs to "dial it in" before a confident product can be consumed.

Thank you for reading, be well, and do not toil in the past or future.

we got our answers from elsewhere. Internet travelers of the future here is what my friend found out:

01. Cybs tek Step 9 says "blow a cold fan over them for at least 20 minutes." This is wildly off. Dry over night.
02. if your mixture turns jet black PH level should be ok, but 12-14 PH is what you're aiming for
03. probably, maybe. test it out.
04. Pull until you don't have anything left. Could be pull 1 like my friend, it could be pull 5.
05. did not get answer, but going to use something other than saran wrap for cover
06. glass jar, cool dry. did not get how long

mods can lock. Hopefully this will be useful for someone down the line. Be safe.

Use foil and a good snap lid for your Pyrex dish. Foil won't react with naptha but syran wrap will. Try to aim for smaller dishes that are deeper and try to saturate your NPS as much as possible by making sure you are thoroughly mixing your NPS and base soup before taking your pulls. I will mix my vessel 6-7 times over the course of a an hour or so with some added heat baths (I don't exceed more then 110°F just a neurotic temperature I stick to nothing special about it.) and am usually able to recover all the DMT in the bark off the first couple pulls. I also let my base soup sit for 24 hours before I take my pulls (this is preference but I've noticed it helps)

I really love those small Pyrex dishes they sell at target and Walmart that comes with the snap lids. Those are perfect or the tiny circular Pyrex dishes. I have found Mason jars to be annoying and too deep but a nice deep small dish with a good opening is perfect. (I understand that last part about my preference of dish could be personal preference)

What temperature did you pull at? I have noticed the hotter I pull the more oily and yellow of an end product I get.

It is also hot this time of year in certain areas and it can mess with the way your product comes out of the freezer as well. If the naptha reaches back to room temperature before it can dry then the DMT will dissolve back in the naptha leaving you an oily mess also water can condense around the edges of the pyrex dish if it is especially hot where you are or humid and this can further complicate the drying process. This process doesn't take very long.

Also when pouring out your naptha from the freezer initially pour it into a container you plan to reuse or pour it back into your base soup for the next pull. There will likely still be some DMT in it and it also helps save your solvent. You can reuse solvents. So after pulling out the freezer pour immediately into something else then place the dish upside down leaning on a wall with a fan pointed at it. Once the big drops have dried strap a paper towel and leave in front of the fan. Check in an hour and scrape into pile even if still wet and begin to spread it back out in a thin paste. Then put the paper towel back on and in front of the fan. Keep doing this till you have a finr dry powder and don't smell any naptha then you are good to go.

Try getting a cheap therm lazer from home depot and doing your pulls at room temperature. I noticed that gives me consistently white or off white yellow crystals that stay solid freebase at room temperature (even in the heat where I'm at now).

Only recently when moving to a new area with extreme heat problems and no way to control temperatures have I been running into these issues that you are experiencing with pulling out of the freezer but found the fan to be an easy fix.

You are correct about the PH you want to see it turn black and you know it's good.

As long as the GL45 cap is Polypropylene or lined with PTFE it should be just fine.

I will dry the DMT until I don't smell any naptha in it anymore which for me won't go on for more than a couple hours. I will also additionally scrape and chop it while it's drying to help free any trapped naptha.

You want to store the DMT end product somewhere cool dark and dry preferably. It is a relatively stable molecule and stored under the right conditions can last quite some time but also stored under improper conditions it has shown resilience. I have had some DMT sitting in vials in a cupboard closet in the upper 90s with high humidity for a couple weeks now and it is still just as potent as the day I extracted it. So Idk I've found dark, dry, cool to be simple and effective but if that is out of your control then don't sweat about it.

Sorry the answers are out of order but this was what I could pick from my brain in the late hours of the night.

Hope all is well and youre able to get some success!

Also oily dmt is still DMT as long as your NPS evaporated clean and you aren't using anything that could contaminate your product with weird impurities other than other bark alkaloid impurities then essentially what you have is a polymorphism of DMT and DMT oil is still good to smoke!
