Ayahuasca as a brew (What sort of vineger do I need etc..?)

Migrated topic.

Hey you, this is my first post in this forum and as such im no longer in the virgin territory. To the topic of discussion. I plan to "cook" some Ayahuasca within the near future. For this procedure i should use vinegar.

Question: Does it mather what kind of vinegar I use? (I take it for granted some vinegars might not be ideal).

Second question: As for creating the brew is it important to use distilled water or is tap-water sufficient?

Third and last question: I'm about to use mimosa bark for my awesome brew. I'm considering making a "weaker" brew the first time (since im new to this in every conceivable way). 5 metric grams of mimosa bark should be sufficient Y/N ? for 1 portion.

(As a side note I intend to use Syrian Rue as a MAOI)

Thank you, Best Regards curious Ayahuasca consumer

Hey downwards, Thanks for replying even if I wished an answer could been added. However, Perhaps I missed the answers where I been looking and need to search further.

I still would like to know what kind of vinegar to use tough ;)

To your question: I never tried anything related to psychedelics/ayahuasca before. I been aware of Ayahuasca for about 15 years but never went as far as trying it.

I contemplated going to Peru to attend any of the many healing centers there but I really don't wanna go there. Recently I found out you could brew it yourself. I heard people saying you shouldent do it this way - but this is the way im most comfortable with.

Thank you, Best regards curious vinegar searcher

Most people do just say 'vinegar'. Any type is fine, it's only to reduce PH slightly.

Useful, though there is no need to spend half the day brewing a single dose. 3x30 minute boils are quite sufficient. Reasons are given for not using tap water, but unless there is something funky with your supply, there's no harm in it. I can't imagine brewed and reduced wood juice tasting good no matter how clean your water is.

More specific on dosages.

Hello Limbol!! I just recently got into this as well!

EDIT: JUST SAW THAT ORION COVERED ALOT OF STUFF, LOL HE POSTED WHILE I WAS WRITING THIS.

5% Acidity Distilled White Vinegar works fine.

The Natives use their "Natural" Tap water (Rivers, streams and such) Although you can use distilled if you wish. The only difference may be that distilled can hold a tiny bit more alkaloids due to it not having any other minerals/ matter in the mixture. Ideally the water should be acidic by adding Vinegar. My ratio for brewing with Distilled White Vinegar and Tap (from the fridge cause its filtered) is about 1/5 Vinegar to Water. Less would probably work ALOT BETTER.

As far as your Mimosa (Light Plant) goes, 5g is typically a strong dose for it. But until you know the actual potency of your wood you may experience one of the following: No trip or a light very mild trip caused by sub-par material (Not your fault, Sometimes Mother Nature doesn't like our special trees and plants to be as strong in Alkaloid content as others), or A trip that is to strong (and even more so for you having no prior Psychedelic Experience).

Here's what I would recommend... Especially if you are Hell bent on brewing it rather than using The Herbal Peculator (Look it up, It works great and requires no heat!) or Cold water Extractions:

Take 10g of Mimosa. Grind to Powder.
Take 7g of Rue Seeds. Grind to Powder (Do not take straight Rue seeds orally unless you want to throw up at about 30mins after doing so... THEY WILL KICK YOUR STOMACHS ASS!)

Mimosa Brew:
Throw the 10g Mimosa into a cooking pot (I use the smaller ones with the long handle on the side. Not tryin to sound stupid but I never learned their names  ). Add say 2 cups of Acidified water and steep it on a medium to low heat for 3 hours, Adding more water to the mix to replace any that evaps off. Now you can boil it and this may be more ideal for root barks. I personally use Chaliponga which is easier to brew. From here you strain the solids out of the liquid and put them back into the pot, leaving the strained out water in a separate jar/ container. Repeat your 3 hour brewing process with the straining at the end at least 2 more times. After that is done and you have mixed together all 3 of the water mixtures used in the process you can discard the plant material. Put the liquid in a crock-pot (or something big enough to hold all of it at once) and heat on medium/low (or boil if you wish to possibly affect yield slightly, DMT salts have a high vape temp so shouldn't be to much worry about it) until the liquid is reduced to like 2oz.

Rue Brew:
Take them Rue seeds and add acidified water to them (I would personally use the same water to plant material ratio mentioned above) in a cooking pot. Brew the rue for at least 30 mins and then strain material (coffee filter works good for finer materials) and put the solids back into the pot and repeat 2 more times (at least). From here slowly reduce the water to a sizable amount 2oz works good, although for Rue brews you may prefer 1oz if your alkaloids are still soluble in a amount of water that small (That one I don't know. It may be a thick corn syrup looking soup at 1oz).

Now to do this you should take half the rue tea (3.5g seeds for Maoi Activation), and about 45 mins to 1 hour in take a Quarter of the Mimosa tea (to test you bark potency. Let me tell you, I know people who have done Ayahuasca and they say IT IS THE STRONGEST TRIP THEY HAVE EVER HAD. With that being said you may not want to jump into a full dose immediately just to get some bearings as to what the trip will feel like. I will touch on this more in a sec) and wait for the cows to come home. In this case probably Space Elves not cows... but you get it lol.

If you don't wish to experience the flavor of your brews (some people hate it, and Oh my Gosh haha Rue Brew tastes like chocolate with a whole whole bunch of chemicals mixed in their. NOT GOOD) you can pick up some Orange or Lemon Flavoring at the store. Its the little (typically brown) bottles that say 100% Lemon extract and are used for baking. If you wish to do this be sure IT DOES NOT HAVE ALCOHOL TO ANY DEGREE cause that may mess with your Maois. But Orange and Lemon oil WILL in fact get rid of the taste (maybe not as much for Rue though cause that is the strongest taste I've come to know... other than nutmeg :? ).

That should sum up the brewing for ya. The Herbal Peculator may provide less nausea for ya as it doesn't get as many of the Tannins (things that make u sick) out of your plant as brewing with heat does.

Now about your experience in this field. Ayahuasca is known as the strongest hallucinogen known to man (may be based on opinion but its still REALLY POWERFUL). You can take it and haha no one is going to stop you, but I will warn you... if you have never tripped hard before, and then go into a EXTREMELY HARD trip, it can be overwhelming and may cause you a bad one... and you do not want a bad trip on Ayahuasca my friend. In order for you to get adjusted to Psychedelics and how tripping feels I would recommend doing Morning Glory seeds or Hawaiian baby woodrose seeds a few times, the last of which you smoke a bowl of some green on. Morning glory seeds with weed (after like 6 months of not smoking it I will add) gave me a very very intense trip and the Brightest Neon CEVS I've ever had. And oh yeah... It was one of the scariest experiences of my life. I came up to fast, and it was like God smashed my sub-conscious. I felt as time slowed down and my thoughs became drippy like water (you may not get what I mean having not done Phyces before) and then after projectile vomit I began to hear Very High Pitched frequencies that Oscillated up and down in tone and I COULD FEEL THEM. These frequencies matched up with my CEVs and My breathing and my heart rate, which was all fine and dandy until my brain gave up and gave me control of them. So I sat their having to think about breathing cause I though if i stopped thinking about it then I would die, and I felt like I was going to die and long story short it was Intense and a Bad trip (I laughed about it the next day tho. Not many people can bounce back from traumatic experiences though).
All in All, get acquainted with psychedelics before jumping into something as powerful as Ayahuasca. Rue by itself was damn intense for me around 6g. The body load was very harsh though. But if you want to see some of whats in store for ya then try 4+g of Rue alone (with weed makes it better and more tolerable though.).

Good luck! I will follow this Thread so If you have any questions feel free to ask. And I will say I am a newbie at this. I do have alot of research behind my belt tho so The above process should work for ya as long as you don't make any mistakes. It will be messy also. I wouldn't mess with Rue at all in a room that has any type of black light in it.... cause it will glow, and anything it touches will also (LIKE YOUR SKIN. Rue brew WILL stain your skin a Neon Blue/Green/Yellow under a black light, so no raves after drinking it unless you want to look like someone busted a load on ur mouth. And yes I know that's a bit inappropriate but that it what a friend said I looked like in a black light a few days after doing rue tea.)

Vinegar is not a necessity.
I do not typically brew vine, i work mostly with purified Syrian rue extract, but when I brew mimosa I use one of those glass juicers with the thing sticking out of the top to put a lime on & juice it.
I usually just brew mhrb 3x 30min with a little lime juice per boil & it comes out fine.
200mg harmalas followed by 3-4g worth of mhrb brew in 30mins has proven active. From there things begin getting intense. 6g being as far as I have pushed it.
This stuff feels very powerful & even light visuals seem to hold an extreme amount of significance & provide insights into something beautiful & also terrifying.
The body feelings seem to even teach about the spiritual & physical connection & the importance ones vessel for consciousness has in this world

Thank you for providing sufficient answers to my questions. I feel more confident continue my kitchen adventura as we speak.
