Ayahuasca Macerate - A new way of brewing

Hi everybody, Maceration is an extraction technique that has been uses for centuries and I have used it to make Ayahuasca with very positive results. The technique is very similar to Phalanx's procedure (see thread http://forums.mycotopia.net/ayahuasc...ayahuasca.html (Alcoholic Ayahuasca)) I took 50g Mimosa Hostilis (grinded) and soaked it in 500ml of 37.5% Vodka for a month (yeap, not suitable if you are in a rush...) After that I filtered and simmered down the volume to 250ml. When you do that pretty much all the alcohol evaporates. I took my brew with an MAOI extract and I had a wonderful healing experience and no puking (although one will puke if is a necessary part of the healing process anyway). The taste of this Mimosa extract is quite bitter, but with an average dose of 50ml and no vinegar one cannot complaint. I have also used it on P. viridis and is not bitter at all and still 50ml per dose. I am currently running this experiment in which I wash 50g of Mimosa with 500ml of IPA for a month. Then filter, discard the IPA and let the bark powder dry completely and then extract it with Vodka for another month. The idea behind it is I believe Yuremamine is soluble in IPA while DMT isn't so effectively you get a purer DMT brew (more like P. Viridis). Still very bitter though! I didn't have a chance to try it yet but when I do I will post the results and how it compares to unwashed Mimosa. Final note: This extraction technique is very easy. Requires little effort but a fair bit of patience. The longer you macerate your brew the stronger it will be. Freezing the plant material over night and grinding before macerating will improve the extraction process. This technique can also be used with B. caapi but I would not recommend using it with P. Harmala because you will also extract the quinazoline alkaloids vasicine, vasicinone, etc. I am not sure which one specifically but one of them makes my breathing difficult. In fact this combined with the possible adverse reaction of the MAOI with allergy/asthma medications could be very serious if not fatal for asthmatic-medicated people. Try the salt precipitation method instead if you are going to use P. Harmala. Peace
