Banisteriopsis Caapi extraction question.

I've been reading here for a while and planned to try an MHRB extraction when the time was right. The time finally seems right, but I cannot seem to get my hands on MHRB at the moment. I can use Banisteriopsis Caapi and I believe it will work also, is that correct? If so, will Cybs' Hybrid ATB Salt TEK work for it?

I tried to search for this info but there's so much info here I get confused. Sorry if it's been answered a thousand times before.

Hello @DancinDog,

You will notice I've edited your post a bit. I want to kindly ask you to revisit the Attitude Page and pay special attention to point 2.2

Thank you for the understanding and good luck with your extraction!

Apologies for the faux pas. I'm aware of the rules, but couldn't think of the correct way to ask. Thanks for the edit (instead of a delete).

Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark (MHRB) contains DMT, just like other plants do, notably some Acacia variants.

Banisteriopsis Caapi contains harmine and harmaline, both a MAOI (MonoAmine Oxidase Inhibitor). By itself it does not contain DMT, but it makes the DMT last longer in your bloodstream, enhancing the experience in time: smoking DMT for example will result in a few minutes of effect, but combining it with a MAOI can increase the effect to hour(s). You should read up on that, taking a MAOI is not without risk (for example if you have high blood pressure or are on SSRI's).

Thanks for the clarification. I'd knew there were a few other plant sources for DMT, but MHRB seemed to be favored. I'll read up on the Acacias and others.

Caapi does not contain DMT, so it is not a substitution for MHRB.
Extraction of caapi alkaloids is a lot easier than extraction of DMT - you do not need to use any nonpolar solvent.
I would strongly recommend you to try caapi extraction.
You can also use the extracted alkaloids alone, with DMT or mushrooms or combined with cannabis.
