Beginner chemistry question regarding Tao of Rue Extraction

I'm sorry I didn't make an introduction, this project is rather time sensitive. I will get to typing the introduction soon.

If this post belongs in another thread, I'm sorry; feel free to move it. I'm wondering what makes harmalas by virtue able to crash out of water in a salt form -- that is, when the water is cold. I have fries sitting in 40% rum and have to act quick.

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking.

And my chemistry might be a bit off but...
Harmala crashes out of water in freebase form as it is insoluble in water. It crashes out in the salt form HCL during say a manske as harmala HCL is a) insoluble in water an b) it crashes as HCL because it borrows the Cl ion from the NaCl (salt) and forms harmala HCL thus crashing out as a salt form.

If your harmala is in freebase form in a solution for example other salts could be used such as citrate etc just depends on chemicsl properties of both the harmala and salt form used.

It's MDxx substances. So far, I have them sitting in 40% rum, will introduce the jars to the freezer in about an hour and maybe add a little vinegar. After that, it seems the best course of action is to evaporate the alcohol, basify the solution, strain out the freebase MDxx, introduce the freebase MDxx to acetone. Thereafter, magnesium sulfate will be added to the acetone -- if needed -- to create an anhydrous solution. Muriatic acid will be added to this solution, drop by drop. Sound good to y'all? Anybody here ever use fumaric acid?

Use isopropanol, not acetone. Also, your MDxx freebase will probably be an oil so you're best off extracting into a suitable, water-immiscible NPS. The crystallization method is outlined in PiHKAL.

I guess benzene would work, but I dunno if it will crash out with time.

Edit: never mind, simply letting the water evaporate isn't the best idea.
