Best setting for DMT

I'm curious about where everyone else typically goes in preparation for hyperspacial travel. From what I've gathered, indoors and eyeshades seem to be very popular. I could never stand being indoors for DMT. Very disorienting. I found the absolute best experiences were always in a very quiet place near running water, like a river or creek. Far away from civilization. On clear nights (especially with lots of stars of a full moon) is incredible. The sound of the water speaks to you. I think it's on DM Turner's site where he talks about the link between water and DMT, and I find it to be absolutly true. Being around old trees, or high up on a hill made for awesome trips. I think setting for DMT is very important. It seems not many feel this way as they can just close their eyes and whatnot. Being outdoors is much better IMO. Also, I have found that being in different geographical places produces a very strong qualitative change in the trip. Just remember the ancients...they lived outdoors for the most part and all their trips were outdoors. That is where we should be for these journeys. So, where do you go?

hi cilosyb ... i like to experience DMT out doors as well ... hidden away in my meadows on a sunny day 8) my favorite setting i have done it a night under the stars with two friends and had a safe experience  the problem with out doors is getting your hit on a windy day, or night so you need a lighter that won't blow out btw, i read about the DMT and water "link" ... i've tried that near my creek, which has plenty of running water .... did not notice any "water" entities, or anything of that nature

i think outside in the rain, lying down on the wet grass is a great place to do it,right when the sun is just about to get up.or also outside at night, the sound of the crickets is amazing.

[quote:0f802f6ba7="Kija."]So location changes experience??? Swim used eyeshades with shaman drumming cd.lieing In his bed.[/quote:0f802f6ba7] Maybe it's not so much the location as the set and setting, but outdoors in nature is a much better setting than inside a little appartment.Maybe if you are depressed and sad outdoors could be as bad as indoors too.But from all my experiences outdoors was always much better.

One of my best DMT experiences was at the beach on a really beautiful sunny day. I was on a mediun dose, no psychedelic images etc. (that's how all my DMT experiences have been so far) and I just felt very mellow and though normally on the quiet and shy side, I was striking up conversations with a lot of people, good vibes, very pleasant. I just felt very in sync with myself, the beach, and people. I do like to get out and about while on DMT, I enjoy the fluidity of movement I feel, and the intensified enjoyment of the wind on my face, scenery, etc. But I like to be indoors part of the time too, listening to music, writing, doing yoga. It's all good :)

hi there delphine ... try bump up the dosage a wee bit you should be seeing "psychedelic images" a plenty!

But people who I've told about my acacia ventures think I'm wildly reckless! The idea that psychedelics are dangerous dies hard. I'm happy with my lower dose trips for now, I'll bump the dose when the time is right... Have you taken a lot of DMT trips yourself? What is your preferred source and where do you obtain it? I may need to find a new source myself, been getting the acacia from a friend, dunno if he can continue to supply me.

Hey delphine, There's no problem in being cautious. DMT is a profound experience so you should go at your own pace and do what feels natural and comfortable for you. If low doses suit you then stick with that. :)

It was the first time I experienced nausea, I threw up right there on the kitchen floor, couldn't help it, but it wasn't that much to clean up. Yet I still didn't have psychedelic visions. I did feel very good though. and wrote another DMT poem which I;m going to post in the DMT Poetry thread. This stuff is great for creativiity! Maybe I'll write a whole book of DMT poetry. :D
