best way to dissolve DMT acetate?

So I have a small batch of jimjam goo just sitting around. I decided to try and freebase it ala the last few steps in amor fatis tek. Armor Fati has you taking your dmt laden d-limo and salting with FASW.....so I decided to take my goo (which had already been salted with vinegar) and re-dissolve it in limo. Man, it is not working. The goo is now wet goo in my pyrex dish, with limo atop, swirling, waiting, still not dissolving?

Any advice on rescuing the dmt?


I also tried gently warming the material, no luck yet.

Well, that just wasn't working.

I decanted the limo to re-use later and now the goo is being dissolved back into white vinegar. Now I'm wondering if adding an FASW to my vinegar will convert dmt acetate to dmt fumarate. I suppose I'll add the FASW in excess.

It didnt work because dmt acetate is NOT soluble in limonene, thats why you can salt out limonene with vinegar, because your alkaloids from limonene will move to the vinegar layer.

If you want fasw, Im not sure if fumaric acid is stronger than acetic acid to transform dmt acetate in fumarate, will have to check that.. But what you can for sure do is redissolve the DMT acetate in a bit of warm water, add a base like lye, pull with limonene, and salt with FASW or FASI to get your fumarates. Or mix the dmt acetate dry with calcium hydroxide, add a bit of water to make paste, let dry, then pull with dry acetone or IPA, and then add FASA or FASI to precipitate your fumarates.

The bit about limo being a no-go sounds so obvious now

I Think I'll just may evap what I have and follow your advice, not the calcium hydroxide paste bit....I've done that plenty. My goal is petrol-free crystals/wax, not goo. I've had nothing but goo for months and wish to try something different. So yeah, I'll evap, base then FASW.
