The new forum is amazing, I keep finding so many nice little features that make life easier.
The search function is probably the worst I've used anywhere, though. There's been times I searched a term and read through every single result, then later come across a thread I never seen before that should have been in those results.
Or I'll just be trying to review something that was said in a recent thread, but I don't remember what the thread was about exactly (one of the thousands of beginner advice ones). So I typed the phrase I'm looking for into the search, but the first few results are posts that have zero relevant keywords. And "pentane" "iso-pentane" "pentane wash" all turn up the same results ordered in the same order...
Shouldn't "iso-pentane" reduce the results since it's more specific? And promote exact matches to "iso-pentane" to the top of the results?

I feel like it shouldn't be so hard. It was less than a month ago, I posted in the thread, the term was repeated multiple times within a few posts, including by me. So there should be multiple hits for the search term within the same thread. That's three big factors that should make the thread stand out in a search, but it's not even on the first page. Idk if its even worth the time to dig for it.

You're not the first to have mentioned this, nor will you, I suspect, be the last - having complained about this myself.
