Boom 2014 - who is going?

Are any Nexus-ers attending Boom Festival (website) in Portugal in 2014?

I'm excited, I just got my tickets for upcoming edition, for the 1st phase price (available for this price until end of this year, so only few days). I've been there twice before, in 2008 & 2012, and have enjoyed the complete picture of atmosphere, people, art, information and happiness. This year I'll go with my girl - I hope but imagine that she will love it as much as I do.

Who of you might I encounter at this upmost trippy part of this physical plane?

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, the testing section and kosmicare are greatly benificial elements of the festival. I've been at a lecture at the previous Boom where they openly discussed testresults, and even gave indication on which particular drugs came more positive out of tests then others.

This is the first boom since 2008 im unsure if i will make it too.

But fate will tell and probably i will end up in the nirvana once again ;)

Boom is one of the biggest and "best" festivals as far as setting, decorations, lights and lasers etc. are concerned...

However, the "new" Boom (the previous organisers sold their concept) is not the same anymore.

Yes, on the surface not much has changed, still a great setting, decorations etc...

But, beneath the surface (so not noticeable for most visitors) there have been some "changes" that would deter many people from visiting the festival again.

Boom is about money and making as much of it as possible... Not much wrong with that you might say, but then if you hear the stories of what they do to maximize their profits - this is not a goa festival anymore...

Dealers, for instance, are not handed over to the police nor are they left alone, they are ripped off by hired goons that work for the organisation (info based on eyewitness reports and inside information)

Another "story" (I happen to know this person very well and trust him completely) was told by one of the shopkeepers at the festival... A young couple, shopkeepers as well, were there with their newborn baby... They paid 1000 euros to be allowed to put up their shop and they double-checked that there would be a supply of drinkable water for the shops. The faucet in the back-stage of the shop area was turned off on the second day of the festival. When these people insisted on having water (with the baby in mind) they were told to buy bottles of water at the bar...

You may think I'm making this up, but I've been involved quite deeply in the psytrance scene for a long time and I know quite a few organisers, deco teams, artists etc. so I like to think that I'm well-informed...

I like to stick to my principles (I once quit a very well-paid job for a sporting goods market-leader after finding out about the conditions their products were - and probably still are - manufactured in...I was making blood-money - not cool...) so I'll gladly visit some of the smaller and cosier festivals ;) that remain true to the "spirit of Goa"...

Greetings friends,

as per the title - who is going to BOOM festival this year? I was thinking it would be convenient to know who is attending this year, so that we could maybe try to further plan a gathering of Nexians at the festival, so that good times may be had, or perhaps for setting up our own camp site?

I would personally love to meet you, my extended family, and revel in the beautiful days together.

Peace,
Import

Dooby, I'm sorry but I think your information is incorrect.

As far as I know BOOM is still done by Good Mood Productions and has not been sold. I can not find any source saying otherwise.

Regarding water, every time I have visited - including the last time - drinking water was free and in abundance in taps all over the festival site.

I would like to see a source as I think you mixed it up with another festival (sounds vaguely like what happened to Ozora)

I was there in 2012 again, working with Kosmicare and drug testing, and I must say I really enjoyed it. First time was 2006 and both were comparable IMO, can`t say I noticed a `decline` but i`m not knowledgeable of who owns it or who produces it.

I do know of the stories of people who got caught selling and were ripped off by supposed police/security, but otherwise normal people seemed to be having a great time.

There was free water all over the festival, plus as volunteers we got plenty of tickets for water too.

I`d go again this year, specially if I can work again, I met some really awesome people. But I`ll only know that a few months from now

Bless you all. I'll be there! 😁

Boom/Portugal started popping up synchronistically for me before, during, and after Afrikaburn last year. I knew that I had to get there somehow, and that powerful medicine will be waiting. Part of my heart is already there.

I was planning on going to S.U.N. festival in Hungary (ticket bought), but since a lot of my friends can't afford it now, I might actually go with some other friends to Boom instead.

The only thing that deters me a bit is the size of it. It's so massive!
