Breaking up mimosa

Migrated topic.
Dont use acetone to wash mescaline acetate, where did yu read that? Acetone is used to wash mescaline hcl only.. You need MEK to wash acetates..

Or, another option which should work well is dissolve your acetate in some hot water, filter it to remove non active insoluble material (run some warm water through filter afterwards to pick up the last bits of alkaloids that are trapped in moisture of filter), add base to the filtered solution (like a strong lye solution for example), then pull again and salt again.. Basically re-doing an a/b. That should really clean it up.

Are you using vinegar or acetic acid? Vinegar is quite impure, usually, acetic acid is much better to work with.. Or salt with HCl next time

EDIT: Weird, this thread was about mescaline before, it was a double post of another thread that I deleted... sorry

I needed that info thank you!! I'm still after the answer on the mimosa tho? Any takers

It will be plenty of work.. With some pliers and your hand, peel the mimosa into thin layers.. Then cut it up into small squares. Then you should do an STB-A/B hybrid, by letting it soak in vinegar for a few days, and then adding a lot of lye and letting it stand for a few more days, and only then extracting.. This should help breaking it up enough for decent yields

if you can get a hold of a blender for a few hours you can make short work of it after breaking it up into thinner strips. just do it on a desk or something by a window with a fan blowing the purple plumes of dust outside. Purple boogers yeee haww!!

I used an Oster brand blender, after snapping it as small as i could easily with my hands. The food processors with the plastic cap blade just bind the bark on the sides into the plastic. A glass blender with a strong metal blade/base is the way to go. Especially because you can keep the lid on the top and keep the dust to a minimum. The bark is very stiff, but not very strong. If you can put it into anything that will contort its shap, it will snap it. Ultimately you're gonna need to blend it to turn it into a powder.
