Butane Extraction

I make Honey Hash Oil with butane all of the time. It is a very simple process that yields excellent results. All you have to do is get some refined butane, and run it through some bud, let it sit for 5- 30 min(because it evaps at room temp) and you scrape hash. I was wondering If I could paste some MHRB with Sodium Carbonate to basify and then run some butane through it. This would be much less time consuming than my previous STB. I have already tested to see if DMT freebase is butane soluble and it is, I just wanted some of your expert opinions on the subject to see if I'm about to blow myself up or something of the sort.

SWIM has made some honey hash oil with butane..MMMMM...and it might just work with root bark..but SWIM couldnt say from experience

Cool. This would be a lot easier for me than STB. Because the butane is pressurized you dont have to do a billion pulls, you can just run it through. I'm going to test this out with a small amount of MHRB once I can get my hands on Sodium Carbonate. I just hope it doesn't absorb Jungle or gunk. This could be an extremely easy tek...

swim loves making his bho too and the last time he did so he decided to make bong balls out of it - the bong balls contained 5mg spice, a bb sized blob of bho and some potent bubble hash to loosen and fluff them up a bit. They worked very well

im sure im the last one here to figure this out - its probably written everywhere - but last time i made those bong balls i noticed freebase spice is not soluble in butane - i added it before the butane had evapped and it stayed as it was - perhaps cleaner looking.

Are you sure its not soluble in butane? Unless it's soluble in cannabinoids (sp?). I was using the butane/hash spray to wash the sides of the dish of spice. Is that statement from personal knowledge or can you cite your source?

its from personal experience - like i said - i put the butane thru my bho machine - it was liquid in the dish for a short while - like 1 minute or so, before it all evapped - during that time while it was liquid i added the spice (freebase) and it didnt disolve at all. when the butane was gone there were my spice xtals - looking exactly the same as when i added them - perhaps just a bit cleaner.

Do you think that DMT salt is soluble? If so I wouldn't have to baseify first, but I'm sure I'd get some other gunk too. I am defiantly going to try this once I get another case of butane (I make a LOT of BHO)

Highly refined butane is the Colobri Butane brand, but it's very expensive.

I buy King butane, it's $2 a bottle and evaps perfectly clean on clear glass. I get it for $30 for 24 bottles.

you're forgetting one important thing...the dmt is embedded in the plant cells. there's a reason poeple do a/b or stb on it: hydrolysis of the plant material to get the dmt out.
you likely will not get the same yields doing a butane extraction

a supercritical fluid extraction using CO2 might work, but it requires a good deal of pressure and a pricey apparatus
