Hi everyone,

I have some caapi vine and I want to make some changa with it. two ways to go:
boiling it down and then mixing it with changa blend, or
using a tek to extract alkaloids and work it this way..

my concern is: does extracted alks with chemicals produce same spiritual experience as using traditional method of boiling? I believe there's plant spirits there. some may not like chemical process, I don't want them to leave :) or punch me in the guts. I have a reason for thinking this way. when I powdered my mushrooms in coffee grinder before trip, during that trip I got kicked in a but by mushroom, it was saying that it was too violent process and it doesn't like it at all..
so this is the same situation, just different spirits and different process.

tell me what you think.

peace

you can always use a full-spectrum solvent.

i would imagine methanol, ethanol, and isopropanol would all do the trick.

iirc a couple members evap a tea down to a crude extract, and then clean that with alcohol to get a full-spectrum extract.

if you feel you MUST go completely natural, i would make at least fine the brew.

never heard of this technique of boiling down and cleaning it with alcohol.. does this tek has a name, so I could do my research?

This might be of interest to you.

You can also do a cold soak of caapi with vinegar and then evaporate the liquid in a double boiler. H

However for both I only have experience with finely shredded vine - which according to you would already be a violent process. I'm not sure if you can extract anything worthwhile from whole caapi-vine. I think people usually break it up into small pieces, pounding and shredding the vine.

Enoon, once again your guidance helps me on my way :)
thanks so much.
