so, i recieved some little rooted banisteriopsis vines, and i went ahead and put them in some soil from the compost pile. i dont think i have a good place for them and it is pacific northwest, in other words we are getting cool to warm days, and the nights are close to freezing. i have a small dilapitated greenhouse which is perfect for my thricoserous cuttings, i was wondering if anyone knows how cold tolerent vine can be? i would like to put it out there with the cacti...

nowhere near as cold tolerant as trichs IME. Where are you that its close to freezing at night? I am in the PNW in canada right near the US border and its not that cold here. Still not warm enough for caapi but I hace trichs that have been out for weeks without any greenhouse and they are growing fine..I put my caapis outside in a little greenhouse tent last summer and they all died. They were all 1 year old from seed. I had to start more but still they are not even growing too much indoors. Maybe you will have better luck. This is one plant that I suck at growing.
Trichs should be okay outdoors all year long I think in the PNW. Maybe they would have to be protected from the rare cold front. They would def have to be kept undercover and dry though for the winter. Caapi is nowhere near as hardy.

When I lived in the SF bay area caapi did OK outside in a protected area in the summer i.e., next to a south facing wall and under lattice semi-shade. In the winter they needed a heated GH. When they are small like yours they are definitely more sensitive to cold and mortality rates are much higher.
I'm in Florida now and I am able to keep one in the ground, although it can and has frozen to the ground on several occasions. This is a 20 year old plant, so don't try this at home.
I'd keep yours inside till it gains some mass and then put outside only when it warms up considerably.
