Cactus Girth and Dosage

Hi,

I am curious how much the girth of a cactus would affect the dosage. I've attached a pic of the cuttings in question.

They are different species, so of course there are other factors in play, but generally should I expect to need a shorter piece of the second to top that is about 4" across in width versus the tips that are closer to 2"?

Also, does the alkaloid content vary in different parts of the cactus, like does the tip have a higher concentration than a center cut or vice versa?

Absolutely! That us the primary objective... just a sample to get to know the plants I'm growing.

I would cut and plant the tips and eat the rest, thats probably not a massive dose by any means, always better to overshoot things with cactus!
