just being clear and checking in at e every step...so far i mixed equal parts calcium hydroxide and cactus powder to ph of about 11 hydrated to goeyy consistency then added dlimonene, about 900ml seperated most of the limo on topp(need to get a better tecnique for this part i tryed to pour it and some spilled ) so got some limo here then to salt it out i need to simply add distilled white vineagar? about how much? also many suggestions seem to say do a final clean up with mek i would like to avoid this could one get good or reasonable results if just left it as salts seperate from limo evap vineagar done? or could a clean up be done reasonably well with ethanol?

ok

take your 900ml of limo. Add 300ml of distilled white vinegar in 3 pulls of 100ml each. Be sure to mix the vinegar through the limo really well. separate off the vinegar pulls from the limo, combine them and evap.

The dirty acetates will work just fine without any kind of washing.

thanks for the help thats pretty clear, ps. sweet avatar:wink:...k just mixed 100 ml in and shook it up...(i just realized i dont know what kind of metal the cap is )...i hope its stainless...anyways shook it up and it appears to have seperated immediatly with the vin on bottom?...so i take out the bottom part and do again? also should i put limo back in cactus goop and re-seperate before i do next vin pull or do all three vin pulls and then repull from cactus and do 3 more with vin from subsequent limo pulls?

Once the vinegar layer is removed, add 100ml of fresh vinegar, repeat this 3 times. Collect vinegar pulls in something like a glass measuring cup so you can easily pour it out onto a pyrex baking dish leaving all traces of limo behind.

Should be mentioned that after the vinegar salting, the limonene usually becomes cloudy. SWIM likes to wait for the limonene to clarify, which sometimes happens if you freeze the mix for a while (easy way to separate vinegar and limo, also )

Also, SWIM has only ever made a minimal effort to keep limo off his evap dish, and has on multiple occasions seen it swimming around on top of the vinegar in the dish during evaporation. It has never caused an issue, ever - it just dries out like everything else.

You get plenty of active material without the wash, but the dosage is not standardized and many people have extremely variant results with the acetate goop.

Just wanted to make sure you are adding a Dilute water/vingar mix...NOT straight Vinegar!!!!
Check ron69s tek for dilution ratios...

IMHO his vinegar water ratio is way too low in PH(Too much vinegar!!!) and will salt out a ton of non mesc alkaloids...you want a PH of 6 to 7 in the salting water AFTER adding to limo AND mixng well to salt out only Mesc Acetate...

This can be cleaned up with his Ice Cold Anhydrous MEK Technique if you dont want full spectrum acetate but desire just the Mesc Acetate...

NOTE: MEK must be Anhydrous(Water Free) as any water will soak your mesc as well as non mesc alkaloids...

Dry epsom salts spread on tin foil on top of baking sheet in 400 degree oven for two hours...let cool in oven...add 30 grams to Quart mason jar..add can of mek ... NOTE: put foil over top before putting lid on as rubber seal will melt from mek...shake..put in frezer and shake every couple hours then let settle for 24 hours...filter through vacum filter if possible or just draw of a little from the top to use to wash Acetate...(you can also dry acetone and IPA this way)

PS...try Mesc HCL next time...just go to pool store and buy Muriatic(HCL) acid...dilute it to 10 % by adding 33ml acid to 67ml water...use 7 drops of this diluted solution per 200 ml water and salt with it... after evaping water...wash Mesc HCL twice with Freezing cold Anhydrous Acetone and twice with Freezing Cold Anhydrous MEK crushing crystals as fine as possible(Mortar and Pestle works great for this-put it in freezer overnight as well before use)...carefully decant off Acetone and then MEK and discard...pour as hot as tap water as you have over remaing crystals and pour this liquid into pie plate...point fan over it till water ripples and let evaporate...scrape up crystals chop as fine as possible....let air dry 24 hours in pie plate in a sealed container with dririte or or more oven dried epsom salts under the plate ...gel cap for storage and keep in the dark at room temp and enjoy at your leisure...

lab=kitchen...soo, when trying the freeze separation(which worked great when i didnt screw it up) one batch of the ice was not frozen all the way through and an unknown amount of the vineagar got back into the cacti, lime, limonene scenario...also i had the acetates sitting in a pan for drying and was trying to figure out a new to me grain grinder and sent a cloud of flour into the air some of which of course settled in the acetates, im pretty sure that it wouldnt effect anything but thought it worth mentioning....can i just reseperate all limo from cacti/lime and resalt with more vineagar and get back the stuff that got poured in the goop?...
