calea zacatechichi extraction

ive previously made ethanol resins of calea zacatechichi and have been most impressed with its 30x potency, however i would like to isolate compounds for a more pure product so that i may experiment further

right now i have 8 g of 30x ethanol resin made with multiple extractions ranging from no heat to boiling (ethanol) and a total of 4 days soaking. all extractions were combined and evaporated with minimal heat for about a day until dry. the resulting resin was scraped up and has been stored in a sealed container

i have no idea how to go about getting a more pure product, i understand ethanol+water is a good way to get a full spectrum resin however i hope to make something a bit more pure/isolated

I remember Dale Pendell's book, Pharmacopoeia, had a short section about this plant - in which he stated that a friend of his attempted to isolate the active but couldn't separate anything active from the bitter goo. So he speculated that the active may be inextricably bound to the bittergens in the leaf. Or they may be the same compound.

However, I look forward to your results if any, and I have always wanted to work with zacatechichi more, finding the intense bitterness to be a hinderance.

I mean, are you thinking that you will get more spectacular results with some isolate rather than the resin? Or is it a taste or mere curiosity thing? I have had wild dream activity after the tea/resin...

ive been making resin for 3-4 years now, and i just feel its time to see if i can push my processing further, its a mere novelty.
but if it could be aquired in a more pure form then more could be vaped without the intense flavor and clogging of the pipe, perhaps this incredible amount at once might yield a profound experience weve yet to catalog.

it is a very potent plant and i can only imagine that in the isolation and smoking of its compounds one might be able to attain a certain, otherwise unavailable, plane.

Without any information regarding the active principle(s) in calea, it's very difficult to devise any refining strategy.

Column chromatography and testing of the different fractions is the only most promising kitchen chemist-friendly method for further refining.

would doing an a/b and salting with vinegar yield a smokable product? im going to give this a shot again, it did change the color of the nps last time i tried however the sample was lost during a move.

Hey buds i did some experimenting on this stuff for a while and came to conclusion that the effects were triple folded eaten taken with food before bed time.

taste pretty bad though.

Hey mew buds, do you smoke it? if you do do you feel effects after inhalation while awake?
