Rising Star
Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum, and new to psychedelics as a whole. But, I have a sustained, lifelong, intense passion for novel plant extractions.

I've experimented with tobacco in almost all of its' forms (cigarettes, pipes. cigars, dokha, even mapacho at one point) and I've yet to find a more reliable plant-based neuromodulator for day to day functioning. I've repeatedly found that vaping, while substantially healthier and cleaner, does not "scratch the same itch" as tobacco, and in fact tends to lead to compulsive redose-driven anxiety.

For these reasons, I've formulated a series of hypotheses:

-The minor alkaloids present in nicotiana tabacum account for much more of the unique psychoactive state acquired via smoking than anybody outside of specialized research roles believes.
-The major health effects that come as a detriment to this state can be effectively mitigated via eliminating combustion
-There are no vaping products that incorporate minor tobacco alkaloids on the market in 2025.

Therefore, I'm planning to take it upon myself.

I understand that transdermal absorption is a major risk, but setting aside that glaring safety concern, does anybody have any experience with tobacco extractions?

Perhaps a pre-prepared nicotine solution, diluted into a carrier solution of VG/PG + flavoring, and carefully combined with a volumetrically dosed solution of norharmane could be a 'safer' route for prototyping given the apparent role MAO inhibition plays in tobacco's unique effects?

I'd really appreciate any insight into this prospective project.

Because extracting nicotine carries inherent risks, I’m going to lock this thread for now. Another moderator who has more expertise or a clearer position on the safety aspects may choose to unlock it later. So at present, it’s simply a precautionary decision.

Nicotine is a highly toxic substance, and even small amounts have been lethal, and with and without tolerance it can cause severe harm. That risk is only compounded when it’s discussed in the context of extraction methods.
