can this be recrystallized?

hi everyone.
i just finished a 200gram MHRB STB extraction, and got a decent yield [see picture 1]


there are mostly white crystals there however there is some yellow ones there on the plate as shown on the right hand side of the pic. maybe if i had to fan pre-evap this before i freeze precip the yellow goo might of been much less?

i then went ahead and scraped up all the crystals i could and put them onto a glass plate, and i noticed there was some yellow goo left there in the dish, didnt seem like much so i decided it would be ok to throw it into my pile of white powder. then the powder all turned into yellow clumps. lol :/

so this is now what i have..[see picture 2]


not sure the weight of this, but im guessing about 2 grams. i dont have a accurate enough scales yet.

i wanted to know, is this ok to re-x? i dont know if my dmt is now dmt-oxide..

Maybe check out Vovin's tek and look at the "washing" section.

Recommend dissolve product in Naptha (300mL).
Then, pinch of sodium carbonate in about 100mL distilled H2O.
Mix the two, shake vigorously (very quick separation).
Separatory Funnel.

Repeat twice more but without adding Sodium Carbonate.

Then Re-x.

Find this helps provide dry crystals from Freeze Percip.

How much Nap was in your pirax dish when you freeze prepped??

What did you do with the remaining Nap after the freezer prep?
-I spread it on some plates to air dry but it only formed goo, which I just gave away.

before i froze the dish, i had done 4 vigorous pulls of 75ml each, so 300ml naphtha.

after there was 150-160ml.. so about half of it evaped away
i kept the leftover naphtha for now

After you poured off the Nap from the dish with the crystals what did you do? put the dish back in the freezer for a while? or air dry? I let mine air dry and I lost some crystals, they gooed up. How do do I keep my crystals in crystal form?

yup after the freeze precip, i put my dish into a small cardboard box along with a small fan.. closed the box up and left it alone for awhile. maybe i should have left the dish dry longer and that yellow goo could have been crystals instead. not sure why yours turned to goo after a fan dry.. maybe it oxidized?

Not much of it did, just a little like yours. And I didn't want to waste it so i added it like you did and got exactly whats yours looks like. Then a ReXed and still got some goo...

Maybe check out page 10 of "The DMT Handbook".

It explains a method of freeze precipitation where the globe is turned upside down and quickly placed back in the freezer to let the remaining Naptha drain off.

just wanted to come back and show my results.. i was skeptic at first that maybe i lost a lot more crystals than 10%, because in the dish they looked so much smaller. however, i think these are more compacted because i didnt lose near as much as i thought i would.

they came out basically pure white, really happy with this, i will keep this spice in a different container because its so pure. and i could see the leftover gunk in the shot glass, glad thats out of my spice
