I want to infuse some parsley with the spice and was wondering if vodka was an acceptable solvent for the job. I have used pure ethyl alcohol in the past with excellent results, but no longer have access to the pure stuff.

although spice will dissolve in vodka. the only problem will be getting all the stuff to evaporate. find the highest alcohol content stuff you can.

also after evaporating the alcohol and water some other gunk might be left over so yea used the cleanest most pure alcohol you can get. high % vodka should work.

Is it really necessary to use a Brita? I mean, if you can drink the stuff, how could smoking it be that much worse? :-)

So I guess Bacardi 151 would be a better choice, eh?

151 would be better than vodka. everclear is probably better than 151, especially if you can find 190 proof. swim wishes it was easier to find 100% ethanol.. would it be safe to use denatured alcohol for infusions provided you make sure its completely evaporated?

It is ok to use denatured alcohol, just make 100% sure it is completely evaporated.

Personally I use everclear for making enhanced leaf...IPA works, just not as well. It seems to make a colodial instead of a solution.
