Can your trip really rub off on your animals?

Migrated topic.

So I'm sure you have all heard someone say that LSD or mushrooms or ecstasy can make your animals trip out if you pet them while under the influence.... does anyone have any proof to back this claim?

I've heard some pretty out there theories, like that your perspiration contains the molecules and that can get into their blood if you... yadda yadda yadda.... that's obviously bullshit because it would be physically impossible... right?

But what of the vibes you are putting off?? could they possibly pick up on that?

When SWIM had two pitbulls they would act very very very strange when his house filled up with people on ecstasy or LSD. They kept a low profile and seemed pretty freaked out. But SWIM would have dozens of people come over and get drunk as fuck and the dogs loved it... ?

I'm sure SWIY has had a strange experience with an animal while tripping. What does SWIY make of it? does the animal seem that way because SWIY's perception is altered? It would seem that that is the logical explaination... but these pitbulls of SWIM's have exhibited some strange behavior after spending time with tripping SWIMs.

Dogs are very in-tune with people. When drunk, people are more animalistic than if they are tripping and the dogs will be more affectionate towards them.

Where you also drunk or tripping, as this would affect your perception of their behavior?

Don't know for sure about that but SWIM has witnessed a dog lick 4 blotters out of a friends hand when he wasn't looking--just stared at the mirror in the closet for a long long time--pissed off my friend but SWIM thought it funnier than shit.

Yep. I've certainly noticed it, but it's hard to say if it's real, or perceived, or both. I do think animals certainly pick up the vibe we humans are putting out. A house full of acid-heads probly has a pretty strong vibe! ;)

In my experience it dosnt matter if you have physical contact or not.My pets always seem to react to my altered state. Its like they know.

Honestly, crazy or not, I feel that my pets are evolving with me.They learn lessons as i do ,and we are both finding a higher level,or whatever.

Like attracts like, and we radiate out that which we attract. So our pets may be picking up on that radiation, even more so when we are in a hightened state of awareness.Animals are more sensitive to subtle energies than humans typically are.

And yeah, "a house full of acid heads" will get all the dogs and cats acting nuts..........just like the humans.

My cat always comes and sits by me during journeys, Its strange coz he always seems to act noticeably differently while I'm on a journey. I definitely think cats have a highly sensitive sense and are highly attuned to pheromones and to changes of positive or negative energy. My cat seems to have a six sense where he can tell if someone is a negative or positive person, he never goes near negative people. So i definitely think peoples journeys can rub off on their animals.

Much Peace

My mate took some mushrooms the other week and his girlfriend didnt know and she had to calm the cat down as it was acting very strange, my mate was convinced the cat was aware, it was acting as if other things were in the room. I think when we take these things its kinda like frodo putting on the ring in lord of the rings your half here and there and we attract things.

I agree that cats seem to be able to see things we cant. My dog used to always look at things and act strangely at things that werent their. Ive been tripping loads and the dog knew, im sure of it, even had this trip where when I closed my eyes I was like in a different realm fly9ing around with the dog, it was kinda like that film watership down, very strange lol.

Someone told me cats are quite powerful protectors of humans in other realms, maybe why the egyptians had a thing for them.

Digging up an old thread, but it's relevant. I smoked spice last night and mid-trip my cat jumped on the couch, all purring and whatnot. I started peaking and heard this whistling noise. I looked over and the cat was sniffing the pipe (it's one of those bulb/meth pipes) at the hole above the bulb. This is the second time she has done this. She got in my lap and started getting all affectionate. All I could do was giggle. I had this unshakeable feeling that she sensed something familiar in the pipe.

Yes, animals probably know when we're high.
Yes, drugs will affect them.
No, touching them doesn't get them high.

If touching an animal got it high, that would mean you are releasing active alkaloids. One, this means YOU'RE not getting as high. And two, it means your body is metabolizing an active alkaloid into an active alkaloid. LSD doesn't break down into more LSD via sweat glands. If that we're true, you could keep reabsorbing your sweat...

A friend used to let his dog lick the tinfoil from his sugar cubes...

I think they can sense that somethings up. One time SWIM had smoked a little DMT and came downstairs to find his bull mastiff sitting perfectly square, looking like the perfect soldier. Everything was perfect, infact.

i cant speak about animals tripping from contact with a person tripping but...

mmy dog is my companion for every trip. whether it's at my place, my girl's or some random friend's place, he's with me. he knows when daddy's fucked up. he picks up on my energy. during lift off (when all the nerves and anxiety are present) he gets very weird. acts like he's ready to fight. my girl has a pitbull and a couple trips ago, my girl was having a "bad trip" (she's very new to psychedelics and doesn't know how to handle them quite so well yet), everytime she would hit the panic part of the cycle (what time is it? how much did i take? will i stay like this? all the fear), the dogs went crazy. raised their hackles. started growling at each other.i had to keep them from fighting a couple times.

this, too, i'm sure, was a result of her ego fighting mine. everything i had told her about the trip (how life is, how everyuthing's a dream, all the shit that takes us years to learn), she thought i was wrong and could find a way around the truth so her ego fought mine. well, in my opinion...your dog is an extension of your ego. her ego was fighting mine, her dog wanted to fight mine.

whenever i hit an altered state, my dog will look at me funny and kinda shy away. after i peak, however, my dog wants to love all over me and spend time with me. i've peeled my onion around him so many times, him and i have a special bond. also, as i've seen others say, you do have a hightened sense of awareness that allows you more insight into your animals behavior.

but...IME...animals won't trip out cuz you touched them but they will know when you're altered and will act differently towards you. especially your own animal vs someone else's. my dog knows me and how i act. other dogs don't. like i said...my dog knows when daddy's intalksickated...

I think it comes down to collective consciousness. Our consciousness, being more advanced than that of an animal, probably has a greater impact on the consciousness shared between a human and and animal. An animal will pick up on that and feed off of it. So, maybe, in a sense we heighten our pets conscious reality in the presence of a not-so-ordinary conscious human (one under the influence of psychedelic substances.)

I've noticed cats, dogs and my parrot acting strangely and out of character during psychedelic experiences. I'm sure they pick up on it, as much of the communication between ourselves and other species is non verbal, so any change in our behaviour, body language or size of pupils etc is very likely to be noticed by them and will alter their behaviour accordingly. I remember a house mate's dog, seeming to sense I was somewhere else after smoking 20x Salvia extract on LSD (one of my top 3 worst drug experiences ever) and the dog got up and came over to me and wagged her tail, looking up at me. It was the first thing in the real world I noticed, and helped ground me after what was a really hellish experience.

I just remembered seeing (I think it was in a general psychology class) a video showing the effects of LSD on a family of apes (chimpanzees?). They administered it to just one ape and the rest went apeshit on him. It had to do with the dissolution of heirarchical thinking. It disturbed the natural order. When it comes to pets there's usually a heirarchy, especially with dogs. Subtle, unconscious changes in attitude and behavior induced by boundary dissolving substances is sure to upset the animal, positively or negatively.

This does not apply to turkeys, however. They are the dumbest animals alive. If you jumped off a bridge, they'd follow you.

DUNE SUITS!!!

One time my roomie's ancient fuzzy lovey Himalayan cat refused to get off my chest while I peaked with Ayahuasca for several hours... I experienced what it was like to be a cat. I understood feline emotion, basic fear, protection, bonding, etc. The cat was attached to me like glue for the next several days and stayed with me when she otherwise couldn't have been bothered. It was really cool.

As for turkeys, I believe they have the ability to perceive colors in the electromagnetic spectrum that we humans cannot. Without drugs! ;)

i know for a fact that my dog doesn't feel easy around dmt. as soon as she smells it she will leave the room abruptly.
funny thing is is that she didn't use to do this until i had "the bad one" . every since that fateful journey she isnt comfortable with dmt at all.

when i drink ayahuasca she is extra clingy. this can be uncomfortable when im just barley holding it together on big ones. i keep shooing her off the bed but she would just jump back up which is completely out of character for her. usually i cant get her to stay on the bed for more than a couple min then she jumps down and lays on her blanket.

i think our animals are reacting off of our vibes not that they are getting high.
