This morning I harvested 16" from my large San Pedro, I wanted to know if there are any special precautions or growing tips I should employ to keep my parent plant healthy after the cutting.

Thanks,
Once

if its humid or cool, not a bad idea to dust fresh cut with sulfur.
i never do, but have lost a few doing wintertime surgery
i'm not in the sw us though

Thanks DG, so it should just callous up and continue to grow normally?

Its also a good idea to cut the top of the parent plant so that water does not collect and start rot. I like to cut one of the ribs away to make a vein to let out any moisture.

Yes, one inclined cut per rib, with the appropriate slope so that the water would flow from the center to the exterior.
