Changa Fever Study

Migrated topic.

Hello,

I'm fairly new to the DMT/Changa scene and have been lurking the forums for quite some time. Generally don't speak/post a ton unless I have something worth saying or can contribute in someway. With that being said, it is nice to meet you all.

I've used DMT quite a bit but never Changa. It is only recently that I've started researching Changa and plan on making some with the DMT I have on hand. But before I begin my journey on Changa, I've heard conflicting reports on this substance with regards to Fever/Flu-like symptoms.

Some people get it and some people are just fine after using Changa. So I want to do a little study to see if we can narrow the cause of the fever.

For those that use Changa,

- Did you get fever/flu after using Changa? Yes or No

- If "yes" to the question above, do you take any prescription medication?

- What solvent did you use to make Changa?

- How much Harmala/Harmine/etc did you add to your Changa?

- What is the source of your Harmala? Caapi? Syrian Rue?

- is your Harmala salt-based or Freebase?

- What is the herb makeup of your Changa?

- What is your method of smoking/vaping Changa?

If you can think of any other questions that might help contribute to this discussion, please add them to your response.

We know that we can rule out pure DMT. Reports of getting fever/flu after using DMT is almost non-existent.

Thanks

Edit: Sorry for posting this here. I couldn't post in the Changa section due to this being my first post.

I have never had fever/flu from changa, but i did get some mighty headaches after i came back to earth. It was always due to using IPA as a solvent, and not properly airing it out, since it is heavier than acetone. My ratio is usually 1:1:1. Source of harmala has always been rue. Harmalas were freebased. The herb makeup changes per batch, depending on my mood and what herbs i would like to explore. I don't add more than 3 different types of herbs to a single mix. My method of ingestion is always through a bong.

That seems to be the general consensus, that IPA or Acetone seems to be the cause of these symptoms. Would love to hear more reports though. Has anyone gotten fever-like symptoms with Changa that has been cured with Ethanol?

i once had fever like symptoms, back then i used IPA.
ever since i used actone and had no such issues - also for the curing process i have a old cpu cooler fan blowing over the vessel i use for my changa. works perfect everytime

- Did you get fever/flu after using Changa? Yes or No
No, never

- If "yes" to the question above, do you take any prescription medication?
I do not

- What solvent did you use to make Changa?
Always ethanol

- How much Harmala/Harmine/etc did you add to your Changa?
I like a .3 ratio (300 mg hamalas to 1 gram of dmt on 1 gram of herbs)

- What is the source of your Harmala? Caapi? Syrian Rue?
Usually rue, but I've done caapi as well

- is your Harmala salt-based or Freebase?
Always freebase

- What is the herb makeup of your Changa?
I've used all sorts, but I mainly stick to nervines (chamomile, skullcap, passiflora, etc) and flowers (lavender, rose, etc)

- What is your method of smoking/vaping Changa?
Usually combustion in a pipe or bubbler/bong sometimes in joints.

I've used all sorts, but I mainly stick to mullein and caapi leaf and add tiny flowers for scent.

I've vaporized both free base and hcl harmalas in an oil burner, and followed that with DMT. I didn't get headaches. It's super tricky to vaporize harmalas in the oil burner, though. Hcl definitely vaporizes easier than freebase.
