Changa Headache & First Breakthrough. Did I take too much?

Hey all.
I've recently started my DMT journey, having done around 3 or 4 vapes, and 2 Changa journeys.

Last night, I believe I broke through and ended up in a place I can only describe as feeling like 'Home'. I recognised it like I'd been there before.

I also visited worlds that I somehow knew I'd lived in - I remember feeling like my girlfriend was there with me. Some visions felt like dreams I've had before, and I was being reminded of them, as if they were never really truly dreams. Some were dystopian.

At the beginning of my journey, when I first broke through, I was given a huge amount of information. It was coming in thick and fast - too fast to stop and comprehend what I was receiving. Some information was about my girlfriend who is going through a hard time right now with her own healing journey. I remember thinking "Ah, okay, this makes sense." But, can I remember any of it now? Nope.

How can I begin to remember the things I have been told or shown? Is forgetting a normal occurrence? Are these worlds I'm seeing real, or am I dreaming? It's difficult to tell, because some felt like home, and others felt like dreams.

Also, when I came out of it, I was left with a headache. I went to bed, and woke up with the same headache. I'm wondering why that is? Did I take too much? I haven't heard anyone talk about side effects before, and I've never experienced a headache with other trips. But this time round, I feel like I'm "coming down," which isn't a pleasant feeling.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻✨
Many thanks.

@Pandora has given some very useful tips in explaining her personal methods for enhancing recall of her inner journeys. Going through her posts from the past couple of months (or decades 😄 ) will undoubted be helpful to you in this context.

The headache, alas, is not entirely unheard of - some people get it the day after shrooms as well. Serotonergic psychedelics can affect blood vessel tone (that's how serotonin got its name, after all) so, in combination with the vast information download you received, it's not altogether surprising that your cerebral vasculature was left reeling a bit.

So, go gentle on yourself, optimise your personal care and nutrition* as best you can, get sufficient sleep, stay hydrated and enjoy some fresh air and a suitable level of exercise - all the old-fashioned, 'boring' stuff that actually does help you optimise what can be quite a heavy-duty experience.

(*I'm thinking B vitamins and magnesium, as a baseline.)

Do you have any experience of meditation? And what was the composition of your changa blend?

Ah, thank you for your advice! Yes, totally agree with the self care. I'm pretty good with exercise and nutrition, thankfully, which undoubtedly helped.

I am a meditater... I have around 35 years experience. DMT is akin to some of the experiences I've had in meditation, but, equally, I can't really compare the two, either. DMT is next level.

I'm eager to see if I meet some of the same beings in the DMT space that I've met in meditation.
I'm also curious to know whether DMT is always chaotic? Does it ever slow down? It feels like it's going a million miles an hour.

With regards to the blend. If I'm being honest, I have no idea. I'm still very new to this, so very much learning as I go.

You can slow it down using harmalas, as long as you're not using any incompatible medication. This is kind of what one might expect from changa, if it's 'proper' changa and not just enhanced leaf.

We'd strongly advise preparing your own changa so that you can be sure of the precise ingredients.

And, as a meditator, you may well find harmalas interesting in their own right.

How's the headache turned out? I'd be inclined to try shifting it with with breathwork and movement exercises - depending on how terrible it was, of course.

^^

Chop wood, carry water.

I usually get headaches on mushrooms and get headaches after a long changa session. A little water, breathing, and time, and it's like it was never there for me.

I tend to wonder if too little exposure to harmalas can add to the headache factor. I encourage using harmalas on their own for a while. I great meditative medicine imo.

One love
