Chest pain/tightness after use

So about 3 months ago, I procured a small amount of dmt. I made a machine vaporizer and ended up taking about 5-6 hits that night. However, since that point, I have had a bit of chest pain which will just not go away. Sometimes it is dull and burning, and sometimes it is more of a sharp acute pain. It seems to mostly be in the upper left area of my chest , but at times I will feel the same sensation on the opposite side. I have not used the spice since that night, nor have I used any other drugs besides MJ and nicotine. An acquaintance who partook that night as well has reported similiar symptoms, however theirs is milder than mine. Has anyone else experienced these same types of symptoms? I recall years ago this same type of issue when using spice, but it was much shorter lived. I'm starting to worry I've permanently fucked my health up and I am only in mid 20s. Any response is appreciated.

I am pretty sure that you haven't done permanent damage.

Is the pain based in your lungs, heart, or somewhere else (ribs, muscles, etc)? I haven't ever heard of anything quiet like this, beyond one report where a man with a heart condition smoked freebase DMT and had a heart attack.

The pain seems to be more of a dull warmth around my lungs, and a more sharp pain in the area of my heart. What really worries me is it's persistence. I may have a day or two where it's not noticeable at all, then the next day it's hard to concentrate on anything else. I'm sure anxiety brought upon by thinking about it is not helping, but it's hard not to be concerned. I can't afford to see a specialist right now (my insurance is laughable at best) or I would have already done it.

I`ve had severe cough for a couple of nights after smoking DMT. That is why nowadays the only way for me is to vaporize it with appropriate method. Combustion of DMT could possibly generate toxic/irritating byproducts, which is a possibility why some people feel it is so harsh. In my case I think I was also debilitaded with a cold, so it worsened it.

That being said, I am no doctor, but I doubt 5 hits will permanently damage your lungs, sounds very unlikely. But I had never heard of anybody having a 3 months lung pain from DMT. Of course the only way to really know whats up is to go get a chest x-ray or ct scan or whatever is necessary to check the lungs, so you should definitely see a specialist.

Do you smoke cigarretes? If so, I`m sure that doesn`t help... Maybe it`s DMT telling you to stop? lol

The other thing to consider is possible is whether the extraction may have been unclean, with significant traces of chemicals left over or whatever.

I think the most logical thing to do now is to not smoke anything, and try have your lungs checked out if you can. Maybe look into breathing essential oils, some can be bronchodilators, clear up the lungs, etc, might help (though im not sure if any might be contraindicated in case of certain lung problems, its worth to check it out).

Also one way or another, being anxious or worried won`t help, do what you have to (and can) do, and otherwise accept it as a part of life just like everything else, good or bad

I experienced this same sort of lung pain (dull with moments of sharpness) long ago when I smoked A lOT of MJ (and cigs for about a year). I think the cigs is what really did it. It lasted for a few years with the symptoms coming and going until I stopped (or more like vastly reduced my MJ intake) it then took a few years to completely go away. What ever damage you "may" have done, your lungs certainly can and probably will heal.

I'm no doctor either, but it's probably more likely the cigs and weed that are causing the persistance.. if you burnt the dmt and didn't properly vaporize it, then you may have irritated your lungs and the cigs/mj are just keeping it going.

Easier said than done, but if you can't get it checked out by a doc, then quuit smoking everythin for a few months and I'm sure you'll clear it up or at least notice an improvement. And if it improves, then that should be a good indicator that you are on the right track and give it more time. But yes, the sure thing is to et it checked out.

Oneironaut probably makes a really good point in that, if you're a cigarette smoker (which your post implies that you are), it is almost certain that your chest pain is at least a partial function of your tobacco habit.

Give those things up, man. They do nothing for you that you can't get somewhere else, in a healthier way.

I occasionally use MJ and use an ecig for nicotine. It's the dmt, guys. There is no doubt in my mind that's what caused this . You all act like this is unheard of but there are quite a few other threads on this here and elsewhere. And surprise surprise everyone responding just blames it on MJ or cigs. It's really frustrating when I know it's the fucking spice that did it. It just makes sense to put my money on the homemade chemical made with lye and paint thinner, especially considering that these symptoms started up 5 minutes after I did the spice and haven't subsided since.

maybe that has something to do with it, it tastes nasty when its burnt and I always think that it feels like it must be doing some damage.

Never scorch DMT.. it can feel like inhaling fire!

I used to torch DMT.or.pot.. whatever ..and it can be very irratating on the air passages and lungs..

I torched DMT a couple times and it hurt my chest and air paseges .. and since then i stoped combusting anything except small doses of salvia extract [with a water pipe!]

Propper vaporization is the safest way ..and if you can run the vapor through a water

pipe..you have more protection..

Some people may be more sensitive than others to that hot combusted smoke...

If it persists see a doc and get an xray or mri...

Maybe there was some NaOH mixed with the DMT you smoked, if so that NaOH would have mixed with the water in the lungs and causing the PH of that water to rise. I think the pulmonary alveolus would be especially sensitive since they have an extramely thin wall made of one cell layer which on the inside is covered by a thin film of water into which the NaOH could dissolve. If that happened the high PH might harm the so called type 1 pneumocytes and possible kill a number of them depending on the dose. This would harm the lung and I would not be surprised if it would be rather difficult for the body to repair.

My advice: go see a doctor.

I have broken my heart with various substance and i now have almost no resistance to effort, even pot speed up my heart like crazy. im 24 and i once had angina pectoris after a bowl, it even last the day i didnt smoke, they put me on norvasc and monocor now.

If you are really concerned enough to be making this thread you should just go to the doctor. They will be able to find out with certainty the vast vast majority of the time what is affecting you. Otherwise you're just wasting your time worrying. Don't worry this isn't the 19th century, you won't die or anything.
