Clarification of nexus tek PLEASE HELP!

Hey all-
I will be preforming this tek this week I am going to be cutting the recipe in half and using mature root back

Now the OP says you need a square pirex dish however no where in his details does he explain what this is used for just trying to be 100% I have written it out about 3 times so I can be 100% prepared

I don’t seem to be able to access that thread but I am reasonably sure the dish is for freeze precipation. If that is the case shape does not actually matter. You want a glass receptacle that you can easily get your hand in to scrape and that you can seal in some way to avoid getting solvent vapour in your freezer.

If you haven’t already I would have a look around at more teks, that way you will get a better understanding of the general concepts.

Any glass container will work as far as precipitating crystals, but the crystals are going to stick to the sides and bottom, so it would be much easier to use a flat-bottomed glass or pyrex dish. If you use a jar, you will most likely not be able to scrape all of the crystals off the sides and bottom.

Why are you ending up with 1000 mL naphtha? I would recommend reducing your naphtha so that you don't have quite so much to work with, and so your crystals will precipitate better. If your NPS is more saturated you will be able to precipitate larger crystals, and from my understanding they will drop out more rapidly.

The recipe calls for 1000ml naphtha, thank you for the reply sir, I do not know if that means if I end up with 1000ml tho. Im nube.

I would be careful following that tek. When I have time I can review it more carefully but I saw a few issues there. For example never shake when stirring the non-polar solvent with your basified liquid, this is a recipe for a nasty emulsion. Stir instead. Also, 1000ml naphtha per pull sounds waaaay too much even for 1kg bark. If you do 500g extraction (which is already too much if this is your first extraction, I`d rather do 250g or so), use maybe 200ml naphtha per pull (or 100 per 250g bark), and then you can try freezing it straight away to get crystals.

And yeah any glass container is fine.

I am actually going to do this, A, I am not going to shake the solvents I will stir. B I will use 100ml Naptha and 250g ACRB, Then I am going to set outside of the night ( it is freezing out where I'm at, and just let the naphtha evaporate and shoot for one pull, will this work? Maybe get a gram or so?

Should work, yeah. Do like 5x pulls and freeze the last one separately so you see how much you are still getting. If last pull is yielding significantly, then keep doing more pulls.

Also when stirring, better do a few repetitions of stirring and letting stand before pulling the solvent out.

If you stir with an object, use stainless steel, glass or wood (with no finish or paint). In the future, investing in a magnetic stirrer might be a good idea. Careful with spills of basified material and solvent, so raise the speed of the stirring gradually and wear gloves goggles etc.

If for some reason it comes out as a goo (that doesnt seem like much but usually weighs more than it seems), don`t panic, all is good. Check the FAQ and search the forum for `acacia goo` and you'll see dozens of examples of people talking about how to deal with it.

So yesterday i took a shot at my first DMT extraction. having never tried this i got a buddy to walk me through it. we ended up doing a Straight to Base extraction. Materials: 75g acacia confusa

So a pull is when after being in the freezer I should have white crystals in the bottom of the jar and I pour off the naphtha in a new jar then put it back in the freezer.

Does naphtha evaporate or do crystals precipitate in naphtha?

I have every step down, pulls just confuse me, I got it pretty much figured out.

Best thing you can do is read all the Teks, or most of them quite a few times.

Someone mentioned investing in a stirrer, i couldn't agree more for i have one, but if your going to invest in something like that, why not grab yourself a nice 1000ml vacuum flask, fritter or Buchner funnel and a vacuum?

In the end, you really want these items first before you get a mag stirrer hot plate..which are awesome by the way.
Then grab a desiccator for instant dried crystals if it has a vacuum feature, if not, then leave overnight with fresh desiccant of course.

Yep Nanptha/Shellite evaporate alright.

Shellite holds the DMT until frozen or evaporated.

Yea I have read this tek about 7 times, have it memorized, as well as others, I just saw someone on BL got 11.7g white crystal off this tek with just 454g bark, sounds pretty promising.

One thing I will do however is stir not shake, Thank you for the advice above
