Cleaning the VG

Migrated topic.

Simple question -

Is there a way to clean the wood VG and save the residue?

I imagine a small amount of acetone could be used and dumped onto a small amount of cappi or existing changa and then evaporated for an unknown ratio changa. That seems like one way.

I first need to find a way to get the residue out without damaging the wood.

I'm thinking warm-hot water can get most of the elf spice out. Then you could either evaporate or pull with an NP-solvent.

yeah....i used warm water with a tiny drop of d-limonene on one of my wood genies and it stripped the finish right off it :(

the upshot- it got it nice n clean! i was able to melt and rub some beeswax into the genie and it looks (and smells!) better than ever!

wasn't too effective for reclaiming the spice residue that was in it though....

best advice- use your wood genie for cannibis and drop the coin on a glass one for your spice. in the long run, it's the best investment you'll make...

L&G!!

did you read what I wrote before?

Yes. I'm supposed to mix water and vinigar together and let the vg soak?.. the pulling part confuses me though (sorry, SWIM is kind of baked). Which solvent should I use?

the solution can be boiled too with the vg inside..

as for pulling, just like any extraction, whats the mistery? you can pull with any non-polar solvent and proceed..

All if this im saying theoretically because I have no idea how much dmt you have accumulated in yours, if its worth it.. I've never felt like recycling my wood genie, I feel the glass one is much better, also because of the simplicity of cleaning with alcohol/IPA/acetone and just evapping that for retrieving the product. But if you are running out of dmt and/or there is plenty accumulated there, re-extracting with vinegar/base/pull might be worth it.
