Rising Star
I have never written any sort of trip report before, but feel a need to express how blown my mind is even after years of sub-breakthrough DMT. This trip was of a completely different character from what I am used to. It blew away all my expectations.
After a few hits of DMT, I sat back in my bed and looked at the fan. While I normally trip with my eyes closed in a DMT peak, I had them open for some reason. The fan kept changing. The blades were shifting shape and position. They were spinning. This happened while the fan was off. As the blades spun faster and faster, the fan started to shake and fall apart. The light on the fan was starting to fall out when I realized this was an actual hallucination, distinct from the visual embellishments I was used to. I wondered how far this could go, as the fan looked just about ready to explode, I wondered if the blades would shoot out. Once I had that thought, the blades stretched out all the way into the walls and melted back into the ceiling.
Mind blown, I sat up and began exploring this new world I found myself in. Everything I saw appeared to have been built up from CGI. It was as if one part of my brain took the visual input from my surroundings, stripped them of everything except just barely enough 3-dimensional loci for their shape to be described, then transmitted these 3d coordinates to another part of my brain where an entirely new world was drawn up with these same coordinates. I could look down at my bed but not see the wrinkles in the sheets, only a plush cartoon mattress. I looked at a roll of toilet paper and was completely unable to see the design on it… just clean shiny white paper, with that same CGI appearance.
For the first time ever in my 6 years of serotenergic psychedelics, I was actually not seeing things that were there. I could exhale a cloud of smoke and not see any smoke at all. The flame from the lighter grew to a monstrous size and would curve, almost wrapping around the pipe. I knew no BIC lighter would really give me a two inch long flame, but that’s what I was seeing.
I couldn’t count my fingers. At one point I appeared to have six or seven. I could see my body morph into bizarre nonhuman forms. The icons on my tablet, along with all the graphics of the interface, were completely different. I thought an iOS update had went through without me noticing... Then I realized the new graphic interface came from my brain, not Apple.
When I laid back and closed my eyes, the visuals were nowhere near as interesting. This is odd because in my earlier DMT trips, the CEVs were much more intricate and interesting than the OEVs. When I opened my eyes again, I was back in this reimagined dream land where everything was in CGI and objects were morphing into one another. I could see through objects. For the first time ever, I couldn’t tell what was real and what wasn’t.
When I first started tripping long ago, I saw patterns. For 2 years I saw patterns while tripping. On a particularly heavy 2c-e trip 4 years ago, I began to see letters and numbers, even words and thoughts, instead. From that point forward I never saw patterns again, mostly just numbers, letters and words. I heard music, which was incredibly intricate and complex. This persisted until the trip last night, where this was all replaced by CGI imagery. I did not imagine any music, which is rather unusual for me on a trip. I was on mute.
However, this CGI-style trip is far more intriguing than any I have experienced before. I’ve smoked about 5g DMT over the course of many years, and I have always known DMT adds a layer of visual embellishments over reality. I did not know it could break reality down, allowing just enough details, such as some 3d coordinates and colors, for the brain to completely rebuild the world from.
I really wonder what triggered this seismic shift in the nature of my trip. The size of the DMT dose was actually a little less than what I’m used to.
I have never broken through I think because of a combination of preflight anxiety and being unable to smoke enough fast enough, and continuing to smoke more while halfway to hyperspace. I have no more preflight anxiety and my GVG should arrive soon, so hopefully I will have a breakthrough soon.
