Okay, SWIM is preparing materials for a second DMT extraction attempt and went to a supermarket today looking for some other type of naphtha, after people here advised him not to use Zippo lighter fluid. The problem is that here, where SWIM lives, nobody knows what Nafta means, and the word itself is almost never used on the products.
SWIM would like to learn more about what naphta is, so he can choose a product that will work.
He read the Wikipedia 'naphtha' page many times and knows that:
"Naphtha normally refers to a number of different flammable liquid mixtures of hydrocarbons, i.e. a distillation product from petroleum or coal tar boiling in a certain range and containing certain hydrocarbons, a broad term encompassing any volatile, flammable liquid hydrocarbon mixture. " - wikipedia,
but still, he is having problems matching these english descriptions with the products he found on the shelves of the stores.
Are both easy (or soft) and hard naphta good for extractions? SWIM found a product today that listed about three ingredients , 2 of which actually contained the word "nafta" (which is the way in our language is spelled). It translated something like "INGREDIENTS: Hard naphta fraction .. , low boiling-point soft (or easy) naphta and Stoddard Solvent"
What is Stoddard Solvent ? This is what is listed as ingredient in MANY products SWIM found here in the paints and thinners section of the store. The Wiki page redirects Stoddard Solvent to whitespirit, but as SWIM understood from this forum, depending on geographic location whitespirit could mean different things.
Another product , called SUPRALUX H-100 (one that SWIM buyed today), says on the label (my translation) that it contains: "Easy benzine 50-100%" and that's about it. The same label describes the product like this: "SUPRALUX H-100 thinner based on aliphatic hidrocarbons ". It also says it is intended "first and foremost for adjusting the application consistency of lacquers and paintings..."
Any kind of feedback that helps SWIM understand what should he should look for , is more than welcome. Thanks.
