~ Crystals ~

Migrated topic.
Just thought I would start a little thread about crystals and their supposed metaphysical properties.

I have an amethyst anklet that I have a great bond to.

This is an interesting subject for me. Lots of people seem to feel that there metaphysical significance in crystals.

How or why does the amethyst activate your chakras?

Also (and this may be more appropriate in the Suppliers section) do you know any good online vendors for crystals? Good finds can be had at festivals, but that's an infrequent thing...

I love crystals! Cavansite, sugilite and pietersite seem to really help with my hyperspace travels :)

This site has some really nice gems-tumbled stones and rare stuff-http://www.exquisitecrystals.com/

ive wondered about how my crystals can be used. I have a really cool smokey quartz, I actually bought it at almost the exact time that my good friend passed away so it has some significance to me. Also my girlfriend has a pretty impressive and very clear quartz crystal as well. I usually just hold them in my hand of have them close by when meditating. Anybody know of other methods to benefit from crystals?

I have a extensive geode collection I inherited from my grand mother and it has helped me emensely ever since having it I also have a nice end off log of petrified wood and sleep with prolly 5 different geodes under my pillows and a slice of agate under my sheet. I arty on my person everyday a Tibetan quartz crystal, some rhonodonite a apache tear and some other odd black rock I felt a connection too. They def. have some sort of effect on me and I have bracelets of jade lapis lazuli and a ring of grounding stones that I where daily with a band of silver. Lol I love my rocks

I like crystals. I like shiny things. I don't have very many, but my coolest is a two pound crystal ball made of rose quartz, that came with a clear quartz stand. It's very pretty. I keep it by my bed on a glass game board (more on the significance of the game board in another thread . . .) .

I like crystals as well, I used to live near a place where you could walk around and find them, there was a big claim on top of the mountain but we would always go right up to it and find lots of small to medium quartz crystals :)

I haven't really experienced any metaphysical effects as far as I can tell but I like to entertain the idea that they have powers even if they don't I don't care. :D I put a little one inside my machine bubbler and it seems to have worked so far.

I feel the exact same way about it....

at any rate thanks to Sky Motion for starting this thread... :d

Good responses guys and Jaime I am looking forward to seeing that collection!

So far I have only ever gotten crystals from close friends or at festivals because I feel that the energy from them stays with you this way.

I have only ever experienced metaphysical effects with my amethyst stones, especially when tripping.

Yerba - I don't really understand how or why it does this, it has a lot to do with the frequencies you operate on and the crystals can effect said frequencies on planes we cannot really observe in the physical sense.

I have a small vial of crystals, they are immensely powerful and effect my reality in a severe fashion:surprised

in "Heaven and Hell" Aldous Huxley talks about the appeal that shiny things have to us. He talks about jewels and crystals, stained glass and gold and silver. His theory is that these things remind us of the other side or the anitpodes of our mind as he puts it. Maybe just the way they look reminds us in some deep subconcious area of our minds of the place that we came from.

But I think (hope mostly to be honest) that their appeal to us is based on more than asthetics. I thought I had heard somewhere that crystals are very good at transfering energy or something like that? Am I way off base here or are there some scientific observations to back this?

well here is some pics of the crystals we have sitting around the house..most of stones I have are put away so I cant even photograph half of them but here is some of my favorites..

BTW..quartz is my fav stone..all kinds..from amethyst to cherry quartz, citrine and tanzine quartz..but I work with amethyst and clear quartz the most. I should really get some smokey quartz cus I dont have any of that one..

Dude..some nice pictures for sure. I like how everything's set up!

I don't have any experience with crystals of any kind, but I'm definitely going to look into it.

Hey, dude, what can you tell me about that crystal skull in the first picture? I've always wanted one of those. But, you know, like the Indiana Jones size skull in the last movie.

You have an amazing collection there.
