Cyb's Tek - Solvent pulls not cloudy

I just finished doing Cyb's Hybrid salt tek on 50g ACRB. I've been a good girl and played chemist a few times before, so I'm not exactly green and think I was pretty spot on with the tek. Even though I did heated pulls, the solvent I pulled wasn't cloudy - it was really pretty clear. When I freeze evap'd, there was hardly any crystals and immediately after I drained off the naptha, the white spots dissovled back in (I was really quick about draining and putting the dish under a powerful fan too). Still, there was a tiny bit of tan/browny wax but I just smoked 32mg and nothing occurred. No CEV, no feelings, nothing.

I've been having a hard time getting any active product from ACRB - I've used two different batches but they did come from the same ent (Treebeard, keeper of the forest), but presumably different trees. I've done the Q21Q21 tek 4 times and got red goo that wasn't active (not even the tiniest bit).

Again, I'm no genius but I felt like I did the teks justice. I'm thinking it was just my source material ... thoughts? Lots of hobits seem to dig Treebeard so am I just the wayward one?

I used joshisoms tek for acrb. It was insanely easy, and i ended uo with 17g from 1kg. Excuse me if im wrong , but i thought the tek you used was for mhrb? Im new to this, so im not 100% sure if that matters, but i was told that a/b works best for acrb

Sorry to say that what you have there, is Not ACRB. (maybe a different species or genus)

It happens a lot these days...All you can do is try again with new stock.

Not necessarily...extraction of alkaloids can be performed in a variety of ways.

My first go I used Cyb's tek also. I had trouble getting crystals to precip but I blame that mostly on the settings of my freezer. I've since turned it up/down... what ever makes it colder so I can try again another time although I'm sure some were forming. The results I ended up with was red goo, like a sticky syrup, and it was active enough to get me a foot in the door and then some.

So far some of my pulls haven't been cloudy immediately. Looking at the separation in my jar it looks clear on the top layer even after a few times running the first pull through the base a few times.

What I've discovered is that when I squirt it from my pipette into my collection jar I can see a cloudy swirl get flushed out of the pipette, and it's not until I've put several squirts into my jar that I can see it begin to cloud up.

It could be a temperature thing. It cools in the pipette then cools more in the collection jar making it cloud up which is, I'm guessing, a precursor to crystalisation if you get it that bit colder.

I've not exactly been doing heated pulls in so far as I don't heat my naphtha. I've been putting hot salt solution into acid boil while it's still pretty well warm and then adding cold water + lye solution which itself is quite warm, so overall it's pretty warm when my RT nap goes in.

My second batch was just as good except I lost the redness in the goo idkw. I used the same acrb but doubled up on quantities used and resulted in a slightly more golden yellow goo. good stuff

So since we've pretty much done the same thing, maybe the problem is your plant material.

Did you reduce your solvent after pulling to concentrate any dmt into a smaller quantity of nap? I'm sure this would aid crystalisation and you'd see it get cloudier as the nap gives off.

You might be better off putting the dish back in the freezer to drip, upside down, onto a thick bed of paper towel or something so it drains in cold environment. Bring the fan into play once it's dried up a bit so your'e not throwing warm air at it while it's so wet. Very small crystals can dissolve very fast.

Perhaps separate your first pull, reduce and freeze that by itself so it's a smaller amount to work with just to see what comes of it. Combine all the other pulls together and store for the time being so you're not wasting as much in reduction... at least until you check out the small sample. There's also a good MIT vid in sticky somewhere shows how to aid crystal seeding which might help.

Thanks for the input guys! I've been going crazy wondering if I've been doing things right. Since this is my first foray into drugs, I've been insecure about all the things - sourcing, extracting, smoking ... etc.

One last thing - I know my smoking technique is probably novice, but I'm using "the machine" and getting white, wispy, semi-harsh smoke. I'm not touching the copper plug with the flame (just getting it close) but even if I am burning it slightly, if it were legit active goo, I'd still get an effect, no?

Back to the drawing board as I look for other mythical creatures to lend their bark to me.

I'm still a pretty novice smoker, actually an ugly novice smoker rofl, but I would say if you put enough in your machine you would get some active vapour before you burnt anything. Unless you're using next to nothing it'd be pretty hard to instantly kill it all.

I suppose I've been overdosing and burning too much idrk, nausea would suggest I perhaps have, but I've been working with nice little pools of syrup. Starting small, I'm not bothered about wasting any at this point. What I am bothered about is getting results both in using technique and the getting the effects of using. Had I done it more efficiently I might not be most way through my 3rd extraction, so everything combined, waste, positive effects, loss, gain and effort.... I'm happy with the journey and you should be too simply cos you're putting that effort in. It'll pay off in time, pay off better for both of us. I'll perfect my methods a bit more and you'll get better stock assuming that's definitely the problem.

It's certainly not fair for me to second guess your extraction method lol, if a dummy like me can do it and you say you're no stranger to a bit of chemistry then what could you have done wrong prior to smoking. The process is simple enough to be a 'can't go wrong' kinda deal. It's better to get a bum deal on your stock than mess it up yourself :thumb_up:

But certainly, if your stuff has dmt in it, you should imo at least match my first trip, if I can call it that, cos I felt like I was getting next to nothing into me. I smoked very little at first. I can't weigh accurately to less than 0.1g. I wasn't looking for "in at the deepend" anyway. I like to gauge what's going on with new things especially like dmt.
I vaped in a glass jar over a tea light and had embelished colour effects, slow rippling and gently breathing surfaces which developed a kind of PCB patterning, you know like the circuitry of a printed circuit board. Certainly very mild stuff and I didn't really feel anything physically, as I remember, so I guess that time I had lowest dose possible. I can't comment on your smoke method as I've neither done it nor read enough about it to remember facts correctly, but I've had best success with the dreaded foil and bottle. A guy does what he can lol. but it's handy for me cos I can see what the goo is doing... well until the bottom of the bottle starts looking like a kaleidascope :lol:

What does your raw goo smell like? For me the "new shoe" smell fits pretty well. see what I did there? New shoes made of cheap plastic and lashings of fresh glue. A kinda thick and heavy smell.

Look most problems arise from unscrupulous tyrants flooding the web with totally bunk bark ! And it's very difficult to get quality these days so IMO if you stumble across high quality fill you're pockets shoes and where ever else you can fit it :d !!

So don't look into things and over think it all ( solvent temp , did I leave it soak to long , not enough lye , salt or acid ) aslong as you do the TEK to the guidelines ex: ph's correct , and order there performed , nothing else matters it will work, unless offcourse you're bark is crap !! But IMO with acacia ATB is the go and a defat or Backsalting is recomended , unless you're using 20-50g bark ! :thumb_up:

I've done seven or eight extractions (lime tek, salt tek for newbies, and Max Ion) on MHRB so far and not a single one has had cloudy naphtha right away. I've always had to evap it down a bunch to have it go cloudy.

Although my last one using the Max Ion tek went cloudy to the point of not being able to see through at least 3/4" of solvent in only 15 minutes. It's currently in the freezer. I predict a very snowy August indeed.
