Hello everyone, I am a long time lurker but first time contributor to this site. First and foremost, thank you to all the veteran contributors on here. I was at a very low spot when I found DMT and it has helped me immensely. I won't go into that in this post or I will ramble all night. After my first several times using a DMT Vape I was trying to figure out how to essentially "bring more back" with me. The very sudden and jarring nature of DMT made it very difficult for me to bring back clear memories or insights and I kept feeling like I just woke up from the most amazing dream that I immediately lost the details of. At first I tried to have a recorder going and would talk through what I was seeing but that was unreliable, especially on breakthrough doses where I would entirely lose connection with my body. I tried to journal directly after and I still do that, but there still felt like there was too much separation between what I could comprehend and what I was seeing. I went down various rabbit holes on this site. I tried a dry herb vape, then the "sandwich method" putting dmt in a weed bowl, and eventually landed on ayahuasca and Changa. I have tried to get ayahuasca to work a few times with limited success. Changa ended up giving me very good results due to extending the time that the DMT was active and more importantly, how long you have to administer. With Changa I found I could go much slower and get to where I wanted. The slower come up and down also helped me bring more back. This was my method for a while (using syrian rue seed extract for the harmala).
The one issue I kept having was being able to reliably dose. Every once in a while I would get a hit with way more DMT than expected. While no experience is a "bad" experience, this caused some of my more... challenging ones. I was in a much better place in my life by this time and took some time off, and I had no changa made the next time that I decided DMT was warranted. This is how I accidentally stumbled onto what is now my go to method for various reasons, and I apologize for the lengthy preamble:
I smoke cannabis daily, so this method incorporates that, but any herbal smoking blend could be substituted for the first step. Step one is to fill a bowl about 2/3 of the way with cannabis. I prefer a more indica leaning strain. Anything that gives a head high gives me conflicting bodily sensations because I feel DMT in a band of pressure around my head, so I stray away from that. with the bowl 2/3 of the way full, I add 6-8 lavender buds. They are heavy in linalool which helps with relaxation and tastes great. On top of the lavender buds I add roughly 30-40mg of harmala. I use the "Easy Caapi Vine Alkaloid Extraction Guide" from this site with syrian rue seeds and it works great. I cap the remainder of the bowl with more cannabis and then spend 30-45 minutes slowly smoking that and thinking about why I want to use DMT. There are plenty of times that I finish smoking this and am content to end the night there. This blend puts me in a very contemplative mood and the caapi alone is very mildly psychedelic.
The method of vaporization is with a dab rig, which has been the most reliable and user friendly for me. My favorite part about this is how efficient it is with DMT.
5-10mg will give LSD like effects. Still very lucid and able to walk around and lasts for 30-40 minutes.
10-20mg is right at the edge of a breakthrough dose for me and lasts 40+ minutes. Usually don't want to move during this, but retain lucidity. This is my favorite dose and gave me what I was looking for in terms of being able to remember more and bring more back. One of my absolute favorite experiences was at the higher end of this dose after several months without. I got an entity that very clearly beckoned and gave the very clear impression that it wanted me to do more. I did one more hit and it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
25+mg is a breakthrough dose for me and if taken all at once would make me very sick. will last 45+ minutes
5-7mg at a time with about 1-2 minutes inbetween is how I step up to where I want to be.
I hope someone out there finds this useful. Sorry if I made it sound more complex than it is. I promise it is very user friendly and simple.
