SWIM is using Vovin's Tek and now in the defat stage. it's detailed in the Tek that there should be 2 distinct layers of nafta and extraction. when removing the extraction from the seperatory funnel he sees that there is a layer of fatty red liquid between the clear red extraction liquid and the transparent nafta.
my question is, should he use this fatty red liquid or discard it as this is the fat that he is trying to get rid of?
