Dendrobium nobile - A psychoactive Orchid with effects similar to Cannabis

I got my 2 dendrobium nobile sprouts today (from Thailand). They look little ill, but I hope they'll survive. I smoked 0.8g of fresh leaves, that didn't survive travel. Mixed with Damiana.

Smoke wasn't really pleasant. Effects were subtle, but I'm sure it wasn't placebo. After 8 minutes my way of thinking a little bit shifted. Feeling very similar to small amount of weed. I went to bed and had an hour nap with the most stable lucid dream I had in my life. I'm not sure if it was caused by Dendrobium, because it's my third day of taking Entenda Rheedii extract (x50, 0.8g before sleep, last dose - night before). Small afterglow for another 20 minutes after waking up, and back to baseline.

Now I'll wait for flowers and try again.

and facing a possible life sentence! :cry: i said fck it and tried smoking a leaf of my
Nobile plant... there was definite similar effects to cannabis, followed by a head-ache.
Smoked very small amount (one centimeter piece)
dried in oven, and mixed with Calea dream herb.
i still have a head-ache the next day, and a friend who only took one hit is having worse flu
symptoms then me. i don't recommend this unless you just want to have the flu for some reason.

Nobile Dendrobium

I bought 3 plants off of ebay. I garden every year although, I, admittedly don't have much of a green thumb. About 34 days later and the flowers have dried and are falling off the plant. I pull them and they easily come off in whole flowers. I put them in my grinder and grind them.

I know there's no resin in my bowl cause I hit it earlier trying to get a little something from nothing.

My lungs took a bit of a beating because I smoked 4 and a half bowls pretty fast, trying to boost the effects as high as possible.

After the 1st bowl I notice an uplifting feeling and a slight increase in sharpness in the eyes.

By the 2nd bowl I noticed I was high as with cannabis.

By the 3rd bowl I was really surprised at how much like a cannabis high this is.

By the 4th bowl I was surprised how high I was. Feel quite stoned. I feel like I'd be pretty retarded around anyone right now, there's a real slowness to how I feel.

I'll update if I experience anything further, next step is to try out an everclear extract of a whole plant. But it definitely gets you high. I think perhaps the flowers are stronger than the leaves as I tried smoking a dead leaf or two and didn't notice much.

I'm looking for something about it that would be advantageous to just easily getting some cannabis. A high enough ratio of yield :to that of: over-harvesting of the plant.

I'd day, be careful and take a step back.

Everyone I know personally and tried those had illness effects on the next day.

But it's really cool that more experiments are performed on this. Just take care man! :thumb_up:
 
Seemed to me while reading the thread that it could be coincidence that people were fighting colds. Change of weather?

Plus they use this plant in chinese medicine and in supplements.

I worked a double shift on 0 sleep after the amount I smoked.
Like Mr. Peabody, I felt no headache or symptoms of cold/flu.
I even popped 80mg 5-mapb at work.

Of all the so-called cannabis substitute herbs online,
none I have tried were ever much comparable to cannabis.
This was.

Waiting on some more reports before I try an alcohol extraction for oral consumption.

This may be the case.
To me it seems unlikely, though.
But that doesn't mean anything.

You tested with dried flowers, right?

We tested with fresh flowers.
Directly thrown into a vaporizer.

So...this morning, I thought byself that I might give this another try.
With dried flowers this time.
Guess what...when I looked at where "Dendrobius" (that's what we call "him" ) normally stands...he wasn't there anymore.

Turns out wifey was in charge of disposing him because he looked pretty crappy.
But he is safe again now.

Another test will be performed within the next few days.
 
I hope little Dendrobius make a full recovery!

I still haven't had much luck finding this plant but I'm still veery interested in it, so I'll look harder haha.
